‘Staggering’ fall in full-time work THE Covid crisis has taken a heavy toll on permanent employment. As the country moves to tighter restrictions, a survey has revealed that availabilty of permanent jobs has fallen by 40% in Waterford. The survey was conducted by Matrix Recruitment, an employment agency based in Waterford. It describes the drop recorded in the first six months of this year as “staggering”. Matrix reports a similar figure from its offices in Dublin, Carlow and Athlone. Overall, it has found that the jobs market has fallen by 33% since the pandemic hit, when directly compared with 2019 data. The company is seeing a gradual but definite increase in temporary and contract positions and believes this is a trend set to continue in Waterford for the foreseeable future. Kieran McKeown, CEO of Matrix Recruitment, said many companies had short-

term requirements .“They are necessary to help steer the business in a new direction it might be taking, or to simply get their business back up and running after the impact of the pandemic,” he explained. “While it is very concerning that there is a huge drop in permanent roles, we do see a gradual but steady increase in temporary and contract positions, and those roles can offer a candidate a lot of benefits and appeal that permanent posts wouldn’t.” There has also been an increased interest in remote working. “A lot of people want a different way of working now,” said Mr McKeown . He said contract roles had always been prominent in the IT, pharma, finance and engineering sectors. But this trend is now spreading to other industries with an increase in contract work in the public sector, banking, food, healthcare and manufacturing.

‘Fix these empty houses’ A COUNCILLOR has criticised the neglect of “abandoned properties” in Waterford. Fianna Fáil’s Eamon Quinlan has called on Waterford council to buy the properties and get them fit for use. “Let’s be straight here, abandoned properties in residential areas don’t stay abandoned for long - and not
in a good way,” he said. “They pick up squatters who drink, take drugs, intimidate neighbours and generally lead to further destruction of property. “This makes life hell for honest, law abiding people and can often breakdown the bonds of community as locals no longer feel safe. “ As a local councillor I have numerous black spots
where unused properties, that are open to the elements cause continuous issues. “We could save everyone a lot of heartache if only we adopted decisive action from the outset to stop these issues building.” He called on the City and County Council to purchase such properties and sort out legal disputes over ownership.

WATERFORD city and county produced 12 winners in the prestigious Blas na hÉireann awards. They are Anchor Spirits Ireland, Beatha Bakery, Dawn Meats, Irish Gourmet Butter, Legacy Irish Cider, Mezze, DessertFirst, Kielys of Dunhill, Blackwater Distillery, Fitzeally Foods and Pipin Pear. Irish Gourmet Butter won best in county, best in Munster and Best Artisan Producer. The Blas na hÉireann awards, now in their 13th year, are the all-island food awards that recognise the best Irish food and drink products, Because of Covid restrictions, this year’s awards were largely conducted remotely. “The founding mission of Blas – establishing quality benchmarks for Irish produce on a level playing field – was strictly adhered to again this year despite the challenges we have all faced,” explained Blas na hÉireann chairperson Artie Clifford
THE introduction of tighter Covid restrictions has cast a shadow over plans for this year’s Winterval festival. The people behind Ireland’s biggest Christmas festival hope to keep the festive spirit alive in Waterford but tighter rules pose a threat to the already curtailed programme. The plan, as the country moved to Level Three restrictions, was for Winterval to go ahead but without some old favourites such as the large market and the ice skating. But organisers still hoped to feature many of the attractions which have made Winterval a national success - the Christmas train, the Waterford Eye, the Santa Post Box and, of course, Santa himself and his elves. “The Winterval 2020 programme has been amended to reflect the current times, and management will be following all guidance issued by the HSE,” said Winterval event controller Finn Brophy . “Winterval is being designed to allow for managed queues and social distancing. The safety of our visitors is, as always, paramount.” The plan is for Winterval to take place over extended hours from November 13 to December 23, with the full programme to be announced. The HSE, meanwhile, has joined with Waterford City and
County Council and An Garda to reiterate basic messages on preventing the spread of Covid-19. In a joint statement, they say that case numbers are clearly rising across the country and that everyone in Co Waterford needs to remain vigilant. They call on everyone to: *Wash your hands well and often. *Cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing. *Limit contact with others and maintain physical distancing. *Wear a face mask or covering where appropriate. The HSE says these actions prevent the transmission of the virus and protect older and vulnerable people and healthcare workers. The mayor, Cllr. Damien Geoghegan, and the council’s Chief Executive, Michael Walsh, are also urging people not to allow everyone’s hard work to be undermined. The Garda Chief Superintendent in Waterford Padraig Dunne concludes the joint message by reminding everyone that we are at a critical point in tackling the spread of Covid-19 and people in Waterford must take personal responsibility to avoid situations that are a risk to themselves, their family and their friends.
Tired of TD words, say Debenham Five FORMER Debenhams employees ended a five-day occupation of the retailer’s old store in Waterford city centre but vowed to continue their fight for better redundancy terms. The five workers also said no stock should leave the store in City Square Shopping Centre and its value should contribute to the redundancy offer. They were critical of Waterford’s two TDs from Government parties, Minister of State Mary Butler (FF) and Marc O Cathasaigh of the Green Party. The TDs met the ‘Debenhams Five’ while they were still occupying the store. They workers asked the deputies to use their
influence with party leaders, Taoiseach Micheál Martin and Environment Minister Eamon Ryan, to ensure talks are arranged . “We are sick and tired of words from Government politicians,” said Michelle Gavin, union shop steward for the Waterford workers. “ We want action not words. We want real talks which can deliver a fair deal for the Debenhams workers. If Mary Butler and Marc O Cathasaigh can’t deliver that now for the Debenhams workers then I think a lot of people in Waterford will question what value, if any, they have as public representatives for working people in the city.”

Staying home is worth more than you think THE monetary value of a stayat-home parent is being underestimated by close to €30,000 a year, according to a survey conducted for an insurance company. It found that men underestimate the value more than women and that people here in Munster put the lowest value on the role. Royal London calculated the value of a stay-home parent at €47, 933 a year, based on on the cost of childcare, teaching assistance, cleaning. cookling, gardening, house repairs and taxi driving. But 80% of those surveyed by iReach put the value at approximately €28,000 per year. Women, on average, estimated the value of a stayhome partner to be €4,000
higher than the estimate of their male counterparts - €29,000 againast €25,000. Those in Connacht gave the highest estimate (€30,000), followed by Dublin (€29,000), the rest of Leinster (€29,000), and Ulster (€27,000). Respondents in Munster estimated the lowest value for the role at just €26,000. “The huge array of jobs that a homemaker undertakes on a daily basis can sometimes be taken for granted,” said Tony Burke of Royal London in Waterford . “Whether you are a stay-athome parent yourself or your partner is, it’s worth being aware of this issue from a family finance perspective, if nothing else. “It’s commonplace for the main earner in a household to
think about financial safeguards in the event of a loss of income and our research shows that precautions are also worth considering for stay-at-home parents.” The 2016 census found that there were approximately 454,700 people in Ireland whose principal status was looking after the home or family. Of these, 98% were women. “The average expected salary of €28,000 as seen in the survey results is significantly lower than the €47,933 we estimate as the economic cost of a stay-athome parent in 2020,” said Mr Burke. “This is lower again than the €48,946 reported by the Central Statistics Office as the average earnings of a person in full time employment during 2019.”

UNIVERSITY Hospital Waterford (UHW) has been given a clean bill of health by women who gave birth there. In a detailed survey, 81% of the women said their experiennce of UHW was good or very good. This was slightly lower than the national average of 85% but still reflected a high level of satisfaction with the service provided. The National Maternity Experience Survey asked about the hospital’s servces under a number of categories. UHW scored best for “specialised care” in the neonatal unit and “care during labour and birth”. The highest level of dissatisfaction in the “care during labour and birth” category related to the involvement of women in decisions about care and the management of pain during labour and birth. The lowest scoring category at UHW were for “care after the birth” and “feeding” but they
were still close to the national average. In the “care after the birth” category, the lowest-scoring question related to ‘debriefing’ and the opportunity for women to ask questions about their labour and birth after the baby was born. On “feeding”, the lowestscoring question related to support and encouragement provided to women with feeding their baby at home. Some 56% of the women who gave birth at UHW rated the experince as ‘very good’, 25% said it was ‘good’ and 19% rated it ‘fair to poor’. The South/South West Hospital Group welcomed the findings of this first National Maternity Experience Survey. It noted that 85% of participants had either a good or a very good experience of maternity care in Ireland. Most women who took part said that they were treated with respect and dignity, and had confidence and trust in staff.
WATERFORD’S libraries will be opening a new chapter with the help of a €100,000 Government grant. The money will be used to upgrade the Central Library and branches at Dungarvan and Cappoquin. And it will help to develop the participation schemes run at all the library branches. Waterford City and County librarian, Jane Cantwell, said the funding will allow Waterford Libraries to make its branches across the city and county more comfortable and welcoming spaces for communities. “It will ensure that when we can welcome our customers back for all the events, classes, exhibitions and new digital services that we have been missing during Covid, our libraries will be bright, spacious and safe for everyone,” she said. The money will supplement exiting fuding by Waterford City and County Council.

WATERFORD has by far the lowest rents of any city in Ireland. The average rent here is less than half the Dublin rate and is falling, a new survey shows. The average monthly rent in Waterford at the end of the second quarter stood at €799, according to the latest Rent Index published by the Residential Tenancies Board. It shows that rents here have fallen by 2.4% since the end of the first quarter and have shown almost no increase since this time last year when the average stood at €797. The average rent iin Dublin is €1653 but the capital has expereinced the sharpest drop - down 3.1% since the last quarter and 1.7% year on year. All other cities have shown a slight increrase. In Cork the average monthly rent is now €1,209, in Galway €1,169
and in Limerick €971. There were seven counties where the standardised average rent exceeded €1,000 per month in the second quarter – Cork, Dublin, Galway, Kildare, Louth, Meath and Wicklow The pandemic has caused a slowdown in rents both in Dublin and the nearby commuter counties (Meath, Wicklow, Kildare). The county with the lowest standardised average rent was Leitrim at €599 per month. The border and midlands counties continue to have the lowest rents in general. Cavan, Donegal, Leitrim, Longford, Mayo, Monaghan and Roscommon all had standardised average rents below €700 per month. The standardised rent is an average across a variety of properties from a one-bedroom apartment to a four-bedroom house.
Another survey, meanwhile, shows that property prices in Waterford have gone up by €6,000 during the third quarter of this year. MyHome.ie Property Report, in association with Davy, shows that the median asking price for a property in the county is now €185,000. This means prices are up €10,000 compared to this time last year. The asking price for a threebed semi-detached house in the county increased by €6,000 over the quarter, to an average of €185,000. Prices for this house type are up by €15,000 compared to this time last year. The asking price for a four-bed semi-detached house across the county stayed steady over the quarter at €220,000. This means prices in the segment were up €10,000 compared to this time last year, when they stood at €210,000.

I won’t pay for your marathon
M
y neighbour, a fit and feisty man, has been running a marathon in his back garden. He now intends to crown this feat with some incredible number of press-up - a hundred or a million, something huge anyway. And he is planning an equal number of forward thrusts. At least I think that ’s what he said. I didn’ t like to inquire too closely. So long as only consenting adults are involved. He is raising funds for a local football club and I have agreed to contribute. His wife, who is filming it all on her phone, tells me I can watch his efforts online. Watch? Dear god, is it not enough that I have to subsidise these efforts without being expected to watch them as well. The football club in question does a great job and I am very happy to contribute to its coffers. But I would be happier to contribute directly, rather than by the roundabout route of pay-

ing my neighbour for something he loves to do anyway. This sort of sponsorship blackmail seems to have increased since Covid forced us all to limit our social engagements. We’ve nothing better to do with our time, I guess. So the boys at one end of the road are hurling against a wall to raise funds for animal welfare and the girls at the other end are planning a record number of keepy-ups to help a hospital. All good causes that I am happy to support. And all healthy, harmless activities that these young folk are welcome to in-
dulge in. But what’s the connection? Why do they feel that competing in some pointless pursuit will better persuade me to part with my money? The trade-off is not required for simpler forms of giving. If I hand some cash to a homeless person in the street, I don’t request that he first gets
up and runs around the block a few times. If I donate some food to a St Vincent de Paul appeal I don’t expect the recipients to prove their worthiness by pushing a bed from Dublin to Cork. So why is sponsorship seen as a necessary part of so many charity efforts? The Covid crisis has, at least,
put a stop to madder ventures like the bed-push and also to people who want others to pay for their holiday in return for them making a donation to charity. If they want to walk the Camino, that’s grand. If they want to climb the Andes, all fine and dandy. And if I want to contribute to Trócaire or Ox-
fam, that ’s my business. Why should these worthy but quite unrelated ventures be linked by sponsorship? There used to be a more straightforward way of charity fundraising. Whatever happened to flag days? They once were commonplace. And they worked very simply. The collector carried a box marked with the name of the charity. He, or more usually she, waved it in your direction. If you didn’t care for the cause, you walked on. Otherwise you dropped a few coins in the box and were rewarded with a sticky badge (the flag) which you could smugly point at when the next collector loomed into view. Have these clear-cut collections gone out of fashion? It’s quite some time since I’ve seen one. A flag-day transaction was swift and, while individual contributions might not have been large, the total raised could be substantial. The flag sellers did a fine job and nobody ever asked them to run a marathon or show us their forward thrusts.
It’s all about diversification
It is often said, the three most important things to consider when investing are diversification, diversification, diversification. Uncertainty has become a feature of the complex world we live in. In an increasingly globalised, interconnected world, a whole range of geopolitical event can have an economic impact on you as an individual. As a result, making sure your investments deliver the future you and your family want has become more of a challenge. It may be a truism, but the expression ‘don’t put all of your eggs in one basket’ is fundamental to a successful investment strategy, whatever your goals. Many people are drawn to property as an investment. The expression ‘safe as houses’ rings slightly less true today, especially to anyone who needed to sell property in the slump of the early 90’s or during the financial crisis of 2008. Put simply, if you invest in

a single type of asset, you are concentrating risk. Making sure you have exposure to multiple asset types is therefore essential to reduce risk in your portfolio while maximising your potential returns. In a diversified portfolio, a range of different asset types are combined. Assets are deliberately selected whose performance tends to be affected by different factors which, as a result, tend to behave differently. This behaviour is called ‘uncorrelated’. Research has shown that a

properly diversified portfolio consistently smooths peaks and troughs of individual asset classes and delivers the most consistent returns over time. Your portfolio can be diversified in three main ways. By Asset Classes – company shares [equities], government or corporate bonds, property or cash. By Geography – in the USA, Europe, UK, Japan or emerging markets. By Sectors – technology, energy, financials, etc. Balancing risk and reward should be central to your investment strategy – diversification is the best way of positioning your portfolio to benefit from market gains while minimising your overall risk. You financial broker will help you create a diverse portfolio based on you specific investment goals and arrange rebalancing the constituent parts over time to ensure it remains effectively diversified depending on the performance of individual assets.

with Justin Ivory
Fat, healthy Grey Seal pup (Photo Justin Ivory) We are now right in the thick of Grey Seal pupping season. Grey Seals and their breeding colonies are highly sensitive to disturbance from humans. This can be walkers, dogs and families, swimmers, paddle boarders, kayakers, snorkelers, and people flying drones getting far too close. Each year in Ireland we have a serious issue with seal pups being abandoned (and subsequently dying) or needing rescuing due to some form of altercation or encounter with humans. So, if you do come across a seal colony or seal pups in the next few months please follow the guidelines below: • Stay downwind, silent and hidden from a distance (minimum of 100m). They have really good eyesight, hearing, and sense of smell. If you can see them, they can see you. This can cause an adult female not to come ashore and feed her pup, a pup to take to the water before it, should or resting seals to leave the beach expending precious energy needlessly. • Never ever touch a seal pup. Leaving any trace of human scent can cause a mother to abandon a pup. Also, these are wild animals and can bite – a bite that can lead to a nasty infection known as ‘seal finger’. • Do not put a seal in the water. Injured, sick and newborn pups are on land for a reason. Grey seal pups have white fur (lanugo) for the first 3 weeks of life and tend to stay on land until they moult to their spotted coat, as the lanugo coat is not waterproof. During this time, the mother will leave them for hours at a time alone on the beach. This does not mean they are necessarily abandoned! If a pup is on its own with no mum in sight; obviously injured; or if unsure, please ring Seal Rescue Ireland on 087 1955 393.

HERE’S THE STORY by Mary McAleese

Songs for While I’m Away
When a young Mary McAleese told a priest that she planned to become a lawyer, the priest dismissed the idea: she knew no one in the law, and she was female. The reality of what she went on to achieve is even more improbable. In this remarkable memoir, Mary McAleese traces that astonishing arc: from the tight streets of north Belfast, to a professorship in Dublin while still in her twenties, behindthe-scenes work on the peace process, and two triumphant terms as President of Ireland. Here’s the Story is warm, witty and relentlessly fascinating: an extraordinarily intimate memoir by one of the most remarkable public figures.
Book shows seem to have become a thing of the past. But BBC have bucked that trend with a new series, hosted by Sara Cox. Each programme features a panel of four different famous faces who will each bring with them their favourite book to discuss with their fellow guests. In this installment, Sara Pascoe talks about her book Sex Power Money alongside panellists Tom Allen, Sophie Ellis Bextor and Phil Wang. Matt Haig’s The Midnight Library is Book Of The Week.
The story of how a young black boy from working class 1950’s Dublin became Ireland’s greatest rock star. As lead singer of Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott was a ‘songwriter, a poet, a dreamer, a wildman’ and many believe as good a songwriter as Lennon or McCartney. Doubtless Irish fans would argue with that. And they have waited years for this longoverdue feature documentary, a labour of love for director Emer Reynolds, who has been working on the project for the past three years. In cinemas from October 23rd.

Inspired by ‘Apotheca’, a mysterious place where ancient wines blended, Apothic Red is a masterfully crafted smooth red blend, full bodied and at 13.5% ABV, packs quite a punch. This Californian wine is chocolaty in depth with bunches of berry and will go well with your steak dinner — but is a bit too loaded to be quaffed by itself in front of the TV. Sweet, quite generous on the tannins and very, very bold. On offer until October 14th at Supervalu stores for €11.80.
The festival formerly known as Hard Working Class Heroes spotlights new Irish music and provides a full range of industry workshops. This year, the format has made its way online, with 50 different live performances filmed by Other Voices live-streamers Tiny Ark premiering across the online event. The Secret Garden is a British fantasy drama film based on the 1911 novel of the same name by Frances Hodgson Burnett. Directed by Marc Munden and produced by David Heyman, it stars Dixie Egerickx, Colin Firth, and Julie Walters. As this is the fourth adaptation of the novel, it’s likely parents everywhere are familar with the tale, but it’s still a great yarn for the kids. Set in 1947 England, the plot follows a young orphan who is sent to live with her uncle, only to discover a magical garden at his estate. In cinemas from October 23.

In Loving Memory
4th Anniversary JAMES CLEARY
Unseen and unheard but always near, So loved, so missed, so very dear
Birthday remembrance MAURA FRAMPTON
In loving memory of Bridget Whelan, late of Newport Terrace, whose 3rd anniversary occurs on the 16th October. Mass offered Deep in my heart lies a picture, More precious than silver or gold, It’s a picture of my wife, Whose memory I’ll always hold. I lost a wife with a heart of gold, How much I miss her, Can never be told, She shared my troubles, And helped me along, If I follow her footsteps, I will never go wrong. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didn’t go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide. And though we cannot see you, You are always by our side. - From your husband Tom Although we smile, And make no fuss, No one misses you, More than us, And when old times we do recall, That’s when we miss you most of all. - From your son and daughters, Catherine, Eleanor, Bernadette, Frances, Anne, Thomas and Theresa They say there is a reason, They say that time will heal, But neither time nor reason, Will change the way we feel, For no one knows the heartache, That lies behind our smiles, No one knows how many times, We have broken down and cried, We want to tell you something, So there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think of, But so hard to live without. - From all your grandchildren and great grandchildren Novena to the Sacred Heart Dear Heart of Jesus, in the past I have asked for many favours, this time I ask for this one special favour (mention favour). Take it Dear Jesus and place it within Your own broken heart, where Your Father sees it. Then in His merciful eyes it will become Your favour and not mine. Say this prayer for 3 days. Promise publication and favour will be granted. Never knwn to fail. M.O.S. But love & memories outlast them all.
Birthday Remembrance of Maura Frampton, late of 316, St. John’s Park, whose birthday occurs on 21st September. Mum, A lot in life has altered, A lot in life is new, But the things in life that never alter, Are the memories of you, It isn’t what I write today, It isn’t what I say, It’s how I feel inside, When I think of you today, Parting comes to let us know We love you more dearly than we know, Love in death can make us see, What love in life should really be, No matter how life changes, No matter what I do, There will always be a place Within my heart for you. - Happy Birthday Mam, love always, Shirley, Derek, grandchildren and great grandchildren A smile for all, a heart of gold, One of the best the world could hold, Never selfish, always kind, These are the memories you left behind, To hear your voice, to see you smile, To sit and talk with you a while, To be together in the same old way, Would be our dearest wish to day, Though absent, you are always near, Still loved, still missed, still very dear. - Birthday wishes, love Dessie, Vicky and Joe. When we last saw your smiling face, You looked so bright & well Little did we know that day was to be your last farewell, To us you were someone special, Someone kind and true, You will never be forgotten Mam, For we thought the world of you, Sunshine passes and shadows fall, o holy st anthony Gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for your neighbour, made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought I implore of you to obtain for me my request. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle, even so you are the saint of miracles. O gentle and loving St Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, intercede for me and whisper my prayer into the ear of the sweet Infant Jesus who loved to linger in your arms and the gratitude of my heart will be yours. J.P.
-Missing you always, love Monica, grandchildren and great grandchildren . God looked around his garden, And saw an empty space, He then looked down from Heaven, And saw your tired face, He wrapped his arms around you, And whispered Come to Rest, His garden must be beautiful, Because he only takes the best, Like falling leaves, the years go by, But memories of you will never die, Sunshine passes, shadows fall But memories of you Outlast them all. - Happy Birthday Mam, you are always in my heart. Love Stephanie, Paul, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Softly from the shadows, You heard a gentle call, Taking the hand of Jesus You quietly left us all, No special day is needed For us to think of you, You will never be forgotten For we thought the world of you, There is no night without a dawning, No winter without a spring And beyond deaths dark horizon Our hearts once more will sing, For those who leave us for a while have only gone away, Out of a restless careworn world Into a brighter day. -Sadly missed and loved dearly, Sharon, grandchildren and great grandchildren. If I could visit Heaven On this special day, I would wrap my arms around you, And bring you home to stay, Find the softest pillow Lord To rest her head upon, Place a kiss upon her cheek, She will know who it’s from, I can’t get over losing you Even though I try, I will always keep you in my heart Until the day I die. - Happy Birthday Mam, never forgotten, Love Joanne, Michael, grandchildren and great grandchildren. I’ll never forget that sad day You closed your eyes and went away, A sudden call from God on high,

8th Anniversary LUKE RYAN I had no chance to say goodbye, The hardest thing in life to bear Is to want you mother And she’s not there, I wish that I could see you Mam Sitting in your chair, I wish that I could go back home And find you waiting there, A million words cannot express My love, my sorrow, my emptiness, No more tomorrows for us to share But yesterdays memories will always be there, No verse can say, no flowers repay The beautiful mother I lost that day. - Happy birthday Mam, love always Frank, Mary, Zoe Amy . Lonely is the home without you, Life to us is not the same, All the world would be like Heaven, If we could have you back again. Our lips cannot speak how we loved her, Our hearts cannot tell what to say, But God only knows how we miss her In our home that is lonely today. Loved with a love beyond all telling, Missed with a grief beyond all tears. - Thinking of you on your Birthday, love Darren, Tammy and grandchildren Mam, Your needs were simple, Your wants were few, If your family were happy So were you. A heart of gold, A life so true, Loved & respected By all you knew. Always willing, helpful & kind, What lovely memories You left behind. - Love on your birthday, from Garrett, Chantelle, Tommy, Emma & Allie God called your name so softly, That only you could hear, And no-one heard the footsteps Of angels drawing near, It broke our hearts to lose you But you did not go alone, For part of us went with you, The day God called you home, You’re always close beside us In everything you do, You were our greatest treasure, God’s gift to us was you. - Happy Birthday Mam, love Tracey, Dee and Tegan. o holy st anthony Gentlest of saints, your love for God and charity for your neighbour, made you worthy while on earth to possess miraculous powers.
