What is “perfect” summer day? The “perfect” summer day would have to be a day at the beach with friends. It would be hot and sunny without a cloud in sight. The water would be cool and refreshing and the waves would be perfect for a bit of surfing. We’d have fish and chips for lunch on the sand and just chill out all day in our bikini’s! What is the main inspiration for your High Summer 2012 collection? My main inspiration for my collection is a sense of life and freedom. The print of flying birds represents a sense of being free to do and go where ever you decide and the bright floral print reflects life and beauty. How did you begin your designing process?
First of all I put together a mood board, which is a collection of random photos that created a similar feeling to what I had in mind for my collection. From there we put together ideas for prints and once the print was picked we started looking at different designs. What is your favorite piece? I love all the pieces from my collection but if I had to pick just one favourite it would have to be the one-piece bird print swimsuit. I just love the cut out sides and bow on the front. Where do you imagine wearing you favorite collection piece and what with? I’d definitely be wearing it down at the beach with a pair of 60’s sunglasses a straw brim hat and floral dress to slip over the top when I go to the shops.
What type of girl did you have in mind when designing this collection? The type of girl that I designed for is a carefree beach babe who loves simple clothing with a bit of a difference. What is your Summer style? My Summer style is a mash up of floral dresses, denim shorts and thongs or sandals with a sheer tank shirt and a denim or leather jacket for the cooler nights out. How important is the perfect swim wear? Living in Australia and spending the majority of summer at the beach or by a river means we practically live in our swimwear so it’s pretty important to have the perfect one. To us swimwear is our main fashion story during the warmer months.
