Skyscrapers need a protection system against hurricanes and earthquakes. Mass dampener pendulum For skyscrapers they use mass damper pendulums as protection system (e.g. “Taipeh 101”) The pendulum creates a contra-vibration which works against the original vibrations and thereby decreases the max amplitude of the complete system.
