Informal Recreation is the everyday unstructured use of recreational facilities; dropin or by reservation. Activities include swimming, basketball, volleyball, badminton, weightlifting, walking or running, and cardiovascular training.

and Wellness Member must present their valid TIGER 1 identification card and the guest must provide other photo identification proving he or she is at least 16 the time purchased until the TSU Recreation Center closes that day, and are only valid when a current member of the Recreation and Wellness Center accompanies the guest. Members are limited to two (2) Guest Passes during the same day. Guest Passes will only be issued twice per semester to each guest. If a guest would like entrance to the TSU Recreation Center more than twice a semester, a membership right to deny access to any person at any time.
Patron Attire
In each recreational area, members must wear appropriate exercise attire for personal safety and maintenance of facilities. No tops, sports bras, or overly revealing shorts are allowed in the Recreation Center. Clothing must not be o ve, suggestive, or overly revealing. Non-marking athleticfootwear must be worn on the hardwood floors. Appropriateness of clothing will be held to the discretion of the sta of the TSU Recreation and Wellness Center.

CALENDAR
Recreation and Wellness Pro Shop service and some necessary items (for sale) to better help you enjoy your workouts.
Items for Sale Many items are available for purchase to help suit your needs at the Member Services Desk. Items include water, t-shirts, locks, ball caps, swim caps, weight gloves, etc.
Day-Use Lockers Day-Use lockers are free lockers without attached combination locks. Any member or guest of the Recreation and Wellness Center who brings his or her own combination lock may use a Day-Use locker. Items from the Day-Use Locker must be removed on a daily staff reserve the right to discard items left overnight in Day Use Lockers. Participants should not leave items in a locker without securing it.
Locker Rentals Half and full size lockers with the attached combination lockers are available for rent followed: Fall Semester is August 15th to December 15th, Spring Semester is January 4th to May 20th and Summer Semester is
Personal Items
June 1st to August 6th. Unless the locker is renewed by the end date, items must be removed at the end of each semester. Failure to remove items will result in removal of contents by the TSU Recreation staff.
Center assumes no responsibility for personal items. All patrons are encouraged to secure their own possessions in the lockers, day-use locker, or cubbyholes (located in the Fitness Center).
Contents that have been removed from an expired locker will be stored for 1 month, after which if unclaimed by the owner, will
to the Member Services staff, which will assist in filing a report.
Recreation and Wellness Center will not be liable for these items after the one-month time period. Participants should not leave items in a locker without securing it. TSU Recreation and Wellness is not liable for lost, damaged or stolen items left unattended in the facility or in lockers.
Food and beverages may only be consumed in the food court. Only water in clear plastic containers may be brought into program areas.
Towel Service Members may check out towels in the TSU Recreation and Wellness Center on a daily basis. Towels can be rented out and returned at the Fitness Center Desk. Members must leave his or her Tiger 1 Card with a Fitness Center Attendant in order to check out a towel. If a member is interested in a towel service membership along with his or her locker membership, it may be purchased at the Member Services Desk for a nominal fee. All payments can be made with cash, check, or money order.
Food and Beverages
Lost and Found Center Lost and Found are located at the Member Services Desk. Items that are recovered or found in the Recreation and Wellness Center should be reported and brought to the Member Services Desk.
Tobacco and Alcohol Use Smoking or any type of tobacco use is prohibited in the Recreation Center. Possession or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the Center. Additionally, use of the facility under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.

FITNESS & WELLNESS Fitness Assessments
Fitness Assessments are offered to all Rec. members for no additional fee. Visit the Wellness Education Center to sign up. A Fitness Assessment must be completed before patrons are eligible for personal training packages

Seniorcize Program
Seniorcize is a modified intensity group exercise program designed to help participants improve quality of life through structured strength training. It is ideal for persons of advanced years who are just beginning their fitness activities or starting over. All of the movements in the classes are done at individual pace and can be modified for those who have limited range of motion or special joint consideration.
Group Exercise is to assist members of the Texas Southern community in reaching their fitness goals. Our mission is to provide all of our members with a safe effective workout, and promote a healthier style of living. Classes are subject to change.

Tiger Boot Camp A high intensity workout class that uses a combo of strength and endurance training to help participants achieve their fitness goals.
Cardio Kickboxing Consist of a series of drills set to music including shadow boxing, various types of kicks, shuffling, punching, and kicking combinations Yoga A Hindu discipline aimed at training the consciousness for a state of perfect spiritual insight and tranquility, improvement of flexibility, and overall wellness. Zumba Zumba combines high energy and a motivating fusion of Latin and International music with unique moves and combinations that allow participants to dance their way to fitness.
Abs and Body Toning Designed to build strength, condition, and tone the abdominal and lower back muscles.
H.I.I.T (High Intensity Internal Training) An unbelievable full body workout using challenging, high intensity combinations of circuits and weight training. Test your limits in this ultimate test of strength and conditioning! (Recommended for the more advanced group ex. members).
Flirty Girl Tiger Express to learn dance routines provide the perfect combo of cardio and strength training. Participants feel like they’re part f a music video, rather than a cardio crazy, core chiseling, arm sculpting workout class.

Aquatics Center is the home to the only pool on campus. pool serves for academic as well as recre-
ational purposes. design and implement a variety of Aquatics programs that will enhance the health and well-being and quality of life for TSU students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community. Adult Learn to Swim Adults are able to learn to swim with an experience instructor in a safe and comfortable environment. Beginner classes are offered for those who need to be introduced to basic swim techniques. We also offer advanced classes for individuals who want to strengthen their swim skills. For information, call 713-313-6811. Lap swim and Activity Hours Recreational swimming and conditioning is open for students, faculty, and staff on a regular basis. Activities such as water polo, volleyball, basketball or recreational swimming can be scheduled for groups at our members’ leisure.
