“Vision comes first then the organization follows.”

MESSAGE FROM MCP Dear Courageous Leader, Thank you for making the first step by opening this applicaton booklet. You have now opened yourself to a unique opportunity towards empowerment. It might sound absurd that I’m thanking you already, but one of the things you will learn as LCP if ever you do become the one is that gratitude, encouragement, and starting the small steps are very important. You don’t have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great. It’s great that you made this start. Back when I was running for LCP in 2013, I was thinking mostly about how I myself can grow and gain benefits from this experience as the President. In fact, I did earn amazing experience where it was not offered whether in theories or classes. However, what that is more of the unique experience and realization that the LCP experience allows me to understand is the fact that I was no longer selfish of my own experience alone. I understand about the whole. The whole, bigger and broader than just personal interest and need yet, it is when you are in a position of leader an organization of other young individuals, changing the fate through providing positive impacts to the young people and this country. The unique opportunity of being a President offers me a chance to see and act on bring positive impact to Cambodia and to the world. I bet you are afraid right now. Why? Fear can be defined as an emotional reaction that instinctively influences us to withdraw ourselves from a potential threat. It might sound so obvious but understanding the fundamentality of this emotion can be profound. In AIESEC, we have always promoted going out of your comfort zone, so we can learn. Therefore, it begs the question for you to know best what you can learn. What is your deepest fear? What are the threats that you’re withdrawing yourself from as a person? As a leader? As you are trying to contemplate on how to answer that, let me share with you my deepest fears as a leader. When I was running for MCP, I had a long list of fears. Will my parents and friends truly understand? Do I know enough? Will I be inspiring enough? Am I good enough? Real courage is not about being fearless but about being vulnerable and pushing through despite all your fears. At the edge of the cliff of fear, there is a moment of truth for you. That is the moment to dive into the unknown to create your deepest truth. I assure you that once you do, you will be humbled by this journey whatever happens. Remember, only in humility can we truly learn. Be grateful for your fears. Embrace the challenge. Empower. Lead by example whatever it takes! Success comes when your desire to succeed is bigger than your fear of failure. Sereyvong CHHINLIM President of AIESEC in Cambodia 2015-2016

MESSAGE FROM LCP Congratulation! You are already one step closer by just downloading this application; a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, so way to go! I also went through the election process too, so I know it is pretty challenging and stressful; however, I’m not scaring you, but the election process itself is the easiest part of being LCP. During the experience, every single day is like crazy adventure, but at the same time I enjoy too. I believe that LCP life is what doesn’t kill me but makes me stronger and better. Thanks to this opportunity, I could be able to work with a very incredible team, meet many amazing individuals, empower and witness the growth of others, be part of the impact that we are making everyday, and more. Being LCP is amazing! I’m proud to be one! You should too.

LCP of AIESEC in LUCT

If you ask me, will we need to be perfect for being LCP? The answer is of course not. There is no perfect candidate for being LCP. Just only one question I asked myself back then if I was ready to make a change or not. Your motivation and commitment are the most important tools for you to run through this powerful experience. One big thing I want to bring up as always when I share how my LCP experience is, self-awareness. There is no big thing I can take through this remarkable role than that. I have been exploring a maze of potential parts of discovering myself as, a leader, a teammate, friend, member, and importantly one person who deserved to live and help to change the society. Throughout plenty of challenges, Opportunities, lessons, is really matter to what I personally need to have; and everyone, not only me or you, need to have these experiences. I personally encourage anyone who think you need to test all of these amazing potential experiences in the life time within respective role to step up out of your comfort zone, step up to challenge yourself, step up to be someone who can make a big impact in CAMBODIA society. One last word, AIESEC LUCT needs you to be there as a leader who can make this LC more beautiful and powerful. Thank you!

MESSAGE FROM LCP I’ll be brutally honest: I love being LCP. It is without a doubt the best role I ever took in my AIESEC career. As LCP, you have the power to turn your dreams for the org into a reality. You have the distinguished privilege of being the figurehead of one of the largest, most diverse and most unique organizations on campus and in the world. It’s a big experience that will give you a whole new dimension on how you see things and how you see AIESEC. In fact, it’s the best way to challenge your limits and see how every decision or action brings results in your organization and your life. Yet, I also faced the worst crises in my entire life through this role. The job truly is a test of your character. It will continually challenge your ideals, beliefs and leadership. Halfway into my term, I have never thought of giving up. I handled all the challenges thrown at me with utmost grace. Simply because I knew that at the end of the day, all the tears, stress and sacrifices were worth it. We were changing lives. And now it’s your turn. Hold on to your ‘WHY’. It will get you through all the hardships you’ll have to face in this application process. Dream big not only for the world, not only this organization, but also for yourself.

LCP of AIESEC in WP First of all I would like to thank you for reading the LCP booket, which mean that you are interested in this leadership role. If you are looking for the most crazy and unique role ever, this is the most suitable one. Aside from personal development, this role also help you to see a big picture of AIESEC relevance to our country, as well as being to play a big part contributing to future Cambodian's young leaders, our members. Throughout my 6 months experience with this role, I have a really crazy yet fulfilling experience ever as this role has contributed alot to my inner and outer journey. However, the most amazing part of this experience is being to able grow my "self-awareness" toward myself as leader. Being a leader doesn't mean that you are perfect, but you are aware of your strength and area of improvement. Therefore, knowing yourself is actually a beginning to a true leadership. I believe you are the RIGHT leader that Cambodia and AIESEC need. All the very best on your brave action on the LCP application process.
