As you might have guessed, the Miss Dirt Days Model Search presented by VonZipper attracted quite a crowd. With a preliminary competition on each day, two finalists from Saturday and four finalists from Sunday squared off in the final for the crown. The winner not only received a $250 VonZipper check, she also won a web photo gallery on twmx.com and a poster in an upcoming issue of TransWorld Motocross Magazine. Mickey avalon galaxy theatre, ca
World famous radio station KROQ and VonZipper teamed up for a night of slipperiness and sounds featuring Mickey Avalon @ The Galaxy Theatre in Santa Ana. Heads were hyped, lives were changed and panties were thrown when the man who “gots what you need” hit the stage and slid his way through crowd favorites as well as new songs off his upcoming album (Feb. 2010 release). The show culminated in a beerspray-orgy with Mickey’s dancers dousing the crowd while he pumped his new jam “Stroke Me” to a crowd filled with screaming young girls and hopeful young dudes. An intro is no way to introduce Donna Vano to those who haven’t met her. Books could be written about this woman. Multiple movies could be filmed about different aspects of her life. Without even mentioning 99% of Donna’s past I can say that she is currently a saint of mythic proportions. Donna not only runs the south lake Tahoe USASA to help her community, but she also runs a mentoring program for local girls. Pat Milbery has it all going for him. A positive attitude, a quick wit, the ladies love him, and the guys want to shred with him. But behind this confident, smooth talking exterior, lies the heart of teddy bear, a shredding teddy bear. Pat is into everything that you could possibly tie to snowboarding. He’s involved in art, music, fashion, product design, event planning, marketing, coaching, feature design, and mentoring. This is in addition to his filming parts with the well-known Think Thank crew of ultra-creative-snowboarding fame. VON ZIPPER AND SO-GNAR Snowboarding during the summer is a amazing opportunity. But can have it’s downfalls. The worst thing that can happen is a a horrible sunburn! Your face blisters, skin cracks, lips chap and you pretty much feel miserable and it takes away from your snowboarding experience…Booo. The kind folks at VZ hooked up some bandanas to help prevent this crisis. Some lucky campers added this new bandana to their summer shred kits and Milbery spent the day going bananas with them all over the mountain. “The design on this Bandana is a VZ pattern created by Pat Milbery and Captain Safety of SO-GNAR. RYAN CAPES BREAKS DISTANCE RECORD!
Ryan Capes broke the ramp-to-ramp distance record on Saturday night in Reno, Nevada. The Grand Sierra Resort and Casino hosted the world record jump with the parking lot full of cars, motorcycles and more than 10,000 fans on hand all with their eyes glued to the massive ramps waiting to catch Capes on his way to a world record, twice!!! AMA MOTOCROSS MOTO-X 338, SOUTHWICK MA
It was Hurricane Bill, last week and now Hurricane Danny, this week. Just as everyone dried out from last weeks mudder at Budds Creek, the fans and riders were greeted this week with much of the same. After a few inches of rain fell on Friday night the racing schedule for Saturday was shortened to one extended practice followed by the two moto formats for each class. The rain on Saturday went off and on all day making the conditions for racing ever changing by lap and kept the riders on their toes before the motos’ with what goggle set-up would provide the best vision in these crazy conditions. Luckily the MDK/KTM crew of Searle, Hahn, Sipes and Brayton had the best of both worlds. Roll off’s with 10 laminated tear offs on top or four stacks of laminates on top your choice of Sizzle, Bushwick or Porkchop for a total of 28 tear offs.
