PROJECT BRIEF REPRESENTING DATA: NUMBER AND STATISTICS

The purpose of the project is to visually represent researched data and information on a chosen subject gathered from my classmates. The subject can be anything that can be measured statistically. The visual representations are divided into three categorized solutions: typographic based, image-based, and non-computer based. The goal of the project is to practice meaningful and relatable visual communication when given a large amount of information. The posters should be inviting and innovative. Charts, graphs, maps, diagrams, and words may be used. The concept I explored is time travel. I asked my classmates various questions that have to do with time travel and their own personal thoughts upon themselves. I researched what people outside of class thought about time travel, however could not find solid statistics. However, I did come across a few polls that provided information I needed.

BRAINSTORM QUESTIONS

Do you sleep with your socks on or off? If you could change one thing about yourself what would you change? If you were alone in the house and heard a noise what would you do? What do you like to do alone in your free time? If you had 24 hours left to live what would you do? Do you believe in karma? What does love mean to you? Would you parallel park or drive around the block to find a parking spot? How do you like your eggs? If you had a time machine would you go forward in time or backward in time?
