DEVELOPMENT > ROUND THREE

SIGHTRACKED Sightracked measures eye movement with the help of an eye motion tracker embedded in a small camera located around a painting to detect eye movement from a certain distance. The painting will have multiple small cameras embedded around it allowing Sightracked to lock onto more than one pair of eyes. Data:

Eye movement

Platform:

Small camera—eye motion tracker

Visual & Mapping:

Augmented Reality Spatial map

Surface:

Device with Camera like cell phone or tablet

Interaction:

Standing close enough to view the painting

First you will walk toward a painting and notice that the mat on the ground says to stand in a certain area. As you are looking and analyzing the painting, you won’t notice that it is tracking your eye motion until you read the small info touch screen located near side of the painting or artwork.

Information Touch-screen

DEVELOPMENT > ROUND THREE

KCARTHGISDEKCARTHGI After tracking your eye movement, Sightracked records, analyzes, and sends the static file to your phone via text or email, which you enter in the small infoscreen near the painting. In order to compare your results or view visual data from other paintings, you can download the Sightracked Augmented Reality Application, which allows you to pan over other paintings in the museum and see other recordings by spatial graphs covering the original painting. This information will allow you to understand how people are drawn in to certain areas, figure out where you stand, and anayze why that area seems to be the most looked at.

NOTES: down in opacity for colors average data is better than personal data app > website maybe place in a setting other than museum map and cameras - after they experience it? - phone allowed in room? - eye movement makes a piece of art - in museum gift shop - button to show painting & artwork augmented reality really needed?

HOW IT WORKS First you will walk close enough to a painting, as you are looking and analyzing the painting, you won’t notice that it is tracking your eye motion until you read the information on the side of the painting or artwork.

REFINEMENT > VISUAL & LOGICAL REFINEMENT

KCARTHGISDEKCARTHGI button

In order to view your the visual data, you must push the button on the side of the painting. Then, the view the average eye movement tracked, click the button again and it will show you a comparison of te two. This information will allow you to understand how people are drawn in to certain areas, figure out where you stand, and anayze why that area seems to be the most looked at.

ABOUT THE BUTTON: The button has a target around it in order to reflect the target that follows your eye motion. It also is in the rainbow color because it explains that the colors and the time spent staring at a painting are related by color with red being the most time spent and purple or blue being the least time spent.

NOTES: down in opacity for colors average data is better than personal data app > website maybe place in a setting other than museum map and cameras - after they experience it? - phone allowed in room? - eye movement makes a piece of art - in museum gift shop - button to show painting & artwork augmented reality really needed?

REFINEMENT > WRITING DEVELOPMENT

SIGHTRACKED TAGLINE:

Finding the focal point Tracking your eye movement Mapping your eye movement Art through your eyes

DEFINITION:

Sightracked tracks your eye movement and compares it to the artist’s intended focal point and the average focal point. Mapping your visual experience with art.

Benefits:

Museum goers will be connected to others that viewed the same paintings. Art historians can figure out the focal point and analyze why it is the way it is. Compare your results with the artist’s intentions. Compare to any day, month, year. Connected on website.

LONG DEFINITION:

Sightracked is an informational platform that tracks and shares eye movement on museum paintings. In order to get the best results, a small camera is placed to track movement without the user knowing. This data is then analyzed to figure out the trends and find the focal point. Users can visit to this website to compare results with other museum-goers who viewed the painting within the last hour to several years past. These results can also be compared to the artist’s intended focal point if the painting already has one.

REFINEMENT > VIDEO DEVELOPMENT

NOTES: drop walking around the fence map over where her eyes are going more graphics in the video font sizes above 14 pt purpose of project?? stronger call to action each one should have a call out numbers to support the visual map show sections individually key on map gradient with time

REFINEMENT > REVISED VIDEO & LOGO REFINEMENT

Art through your eyes.

NOTES: change logo to dot to dot letter for the button, maybe add target around it sightracked logo is a little heavy, lighten it up - maybe medium? - too heavy application logo phone application? - target solution - one letter with dots

REFLECTION > GETTIN’ PERSONAL

SO, HOW WAS IT? I struggled a lot with this project because it was different compared to the projects we normally do. At first I knew I wouldn’t catch on quickly because I couldn’t even explain the project to my classmates. However, eventually we were given enough information to finally understand the abstract project. I believe that this project really challenged me as a designer because I have never designed a website for an invention/concept of my own. After Effects was also another challenge, but I think I am slowly getting the hang of things. Overall, if I caught on quicker, I think I would have enjoyed this project more. I think if the writing session was done earlier, I would’ve had a better idea of what was going on. I do believe that this project will apply to me in the future and it has helped me out by making me decide my own workload. I am in entrepreneurship and giving this pitch will definitely draw in a crowd and may even get people who are interested in investing into the concept. I enjoyed bringing my own invention to life and hope that it happens in the future. I also liked watching what my classmates created. Technology is moving faster than humans can keep up with. I can’t wait to see what new inventions are being made mainstream and how design will also evolve with it.
