Listed below are noteworthy road works of which the Traffic and Road Safety Section has been informed. Details are supplied as per information received by 16:00 hrs. on the preceding Thursday. Emergency road works cannot be forecast.
PROPOSED ROAD CLOSURES
Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Proposed Temporary Closure of Benildus Avenue, Sandyford St. Benildus College has requested the temporary closure of Benildus Avenue, Sandyford. The closure is to be from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. on Friday 17th May, 2019. The purpose of the proposed closure is to facilitate Rás Benildus. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and all diversions will be signposted. Diversion of traffic will be via Drummartin Link Road, Blackthorn Drive and Blackthorn Avenue and vice versa. Emergency access can be provided, if required, during the period of the Road Closure. Any interested party may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Engineer, Traffic Section, County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire not later than noon on: Friday 3rd May, 2019 or e-mail info@dlrcoco.ie Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Proposed Temporary Closure of R138 Stillorgan Road Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council proposes to temporarily close R138/Stillorgan Road from Fosters Avenue to Belfield Bridge on Sunday 2nd June, 2019 from 13.30 p.m. to 16.30 p.m. in order to facilitate the running of the Women’s Mini Marathon. The proposed diversion route is via Foster’s Avenue and Roebuck Road. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and the diversion route will be signposted. Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Proposed Temporary Closure of Castle Street, Dalkey Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council has received an application to temporarily close Castle Street from Allied Irish Bank to The Church of the Assumption, Castle Street, Dalkey on Saturday 15th June, 2019 and Sunday 16th June, 2019 from 11a.m. to 7.00 p.m. in order to promote Dalkey Book Festival. The purpose of the closure is to facilitate the street festival run in conjunction with Dalkey Book Festival and to bring a festival atmosphere for community and visitors. A Traffic Management Plan with diversion routes will be in operation and local access will be maintained for the full duration of the event. Any interested party may lodge an objection in writing with the Senior Engineer, Traffic Section, Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council , County Hall, Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire or email info@dlrcoco.ie not later than noon on Wednesday 22nd May, 2019. Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Red Bull Cliff Diving, Dún Laoghaire Proposed Temporary Closure of Queen’s Road and Park Road Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are proposing to temporarily close Queen’s Road and Park Road, Dún Laoghaire on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th May, 2019 between 4pm and 9pm in order to facilitate the Red Bull Cliff Diving Event 2019 in the harbour. Queen’s Road will be closed from the junction with Marine Road to the junction with Park Road and Park Road will be closed from its junction with George's Street Upper to Queen’s Road. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversions will be signposted.
ROAD CLOSURES
Section 75 of the Roads Act, 1993 Temporary Closure of Glenamuck Road South Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has made an order to temporarily close Glenamuck Road South, Kilternan. The closure is to be from 7.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. from Monday 15th April, 2019 to Sunday 28th April, 2019. The purpose of the closure is to allow for the installation of a new watermain along Glenamuck Road South, from the junction of the Enniskerry Road to the Rockville Residential Development. A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and diversion routes clearly signposted. Diversion of traffic will be via Ballyogan Road, Kilgobbin Road and Enniskerry Road and vice versa. Local access, during the temporary closure will be via the M50 Motorway direction and access for emergency services will be provided at all times, if required. Page 2 of 7
ROADWORKS / LANE RESTRICTIONS
N11 Cabinteely (closure of south bound bus lane) Closure of south bound bus lane and restrictions on cycle lane will commence on Tuesday 30th April between 10.00 and 16.00 hrs to facilitate road widening works north of Circle K filing station on east side of N11. This phase of the works is scheduled for completion end July 2019. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Lower Kilmacud Road from Old Church to KBC Bank Site investigation, including slit trench excavation is to be carried out at a number of locations from Tuesday 30th April until Thursday 2nd May. Works are in the grass verges and footpaths and no lane closures will be required Cornelscourt Hill Road, Cornelscourt, Dublin 18 The raising of a manhole near the junction of Cornelscourt Hill Road and Claremount will take place on Monday 29th April and Tuesday 30th April between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and a Stop and Go system will be in place.
Moyola Court, Milltown, Dublin 14* Footpath and overlay works will take place from Monday 29th April to Friday 10th May between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and a Stop and Go system will be in place. Frascatti Road, Blackrock Concrete footpath reinstatement works will commence on Wednesday, 25 th April 2019 until Friday, 3rd May 2019 between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Sandyford Road, Sandyford Telecom works will commence on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 until Tuesday, 30th April 2019 between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. St. Columbanus Road, Milltown Footpath repair works will commence on Tuesday, 23rd April 2019 until Friday, 17th May 2019 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Ballinclea Road, Killiney GPR Survey works will commence on Ballinclea Road during week commencing Monday, 22nd April 2019 to week ending Friday, 3rd May 2019 between the hours of 21:00 and 05:00. Semi Static Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and Local access will be maintained at all times. Adelaide Lane, Glasthule Topographical survey works will commence on Adelaide Lane during week commencing Monday, 22nd April 2019 to week ending Friday, 3rd May 2019 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and Local access will be maintained at all times. Rosmeen Gardens, DĂşn Laoghaire Topographical survey works will commence on Rosmeen Gardens during week commencing Monday, 29th April 2019 to week ending Friday, 3rd May 2019 between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00. Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and Local access will be maintained at all times. Tivoli Road / Corrig Road, Dún Laoghaire Site Investigation works will commence on Tivoli Road / Corrig Road during week commencing Monday, 6th May 2019 to week ending Friday, 10th May 2019 between the hours of 10:00 and 16:00. Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation and Local access will be maintained at all times.
Clonskeagh Road at Bird Avenue Minor footpath repairs will continue until Friday, 3rd May 2019 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Killiney Hill Road – at the Martello Tower, Killiney Drainage works will continue until Friday, 3rd May 2019 between 08:00 and 18:00 hrs. A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation. Clonskeagh Road from Leinster Lawn to Whitethorn Road Upgrade of pedestrian and cycling facilities along Clonskeagh Road will commence on Monday, 4th March 2019. Permanent Traffic Management will be in place until end of June 2019 with lane closures between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. on weekdays. Lower Kilmacud Road at the junctions of South Avenue and Upper Kilmacud Road Upgrade of existing junctions commenced on Monday, 3rd September 2018. Scheme is substantially completed but on-going snagging and landscaping works will continue over the next few weeks. A Traffic Management System will be in place. N11 Cabinteely (closure of bus lane – north bound carriageway only) *** Works will commence on Tuesday, 26th February 2019 to construct a new signalized junction and construction of 135 m of new Druid’s Glen Road until autumn 2019. N11 – Outbound Carrigeway - Stillorgan Park Avenue Junction to Mount Merrion Junction Upgrading of public lighting columns and lanterns will commence on Monday, 8th April 2019 until Friday, 16th August 2019 (intermittent). Working hours 10:00 – 16:00 and 19:30 – Midnight (if required). A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works.
N11 – Inbound Carriageway between – Junction Kilmacud Road Lower and Mount Merrion Junction Upgrading of public lighting columns and lanterns will commence on Monday, 8th April 2019 until Friday, 16th August 2019 (intermittent). Working hours 10:00 – 16:00 and 19:30 – Midnight (if required). A Traffic Management Plan will be in operation for the duration of the works.
Public Lighting Lantern and Bracket Upgrade Works ** Public lighting lantern and bracket upgrade works will take place on: 1. Glenageary Road Lower 2. Deansgrange Road 3. Blackthorn Drive 4. Brewery Road. 5. Clonskeagh Road 6. Leopardstown Road 7. Glenageary Road upper 8. York Road, 9. Brennanstown Road. 10. Sandyford Business Park. These works will continue until Friday, 30th August 2019. A Stop / Go Traffic Management Plan will be in operation as required. Windsor Terrace – Dún Laoghaire Baths Redevelopment Construction commenced on the redevelopment of the Baths site on Monday, 23rd April 2018. Construction is programmed to be completed by Q1 2020. During April, pier construction and the internal construction of the building will continue. The retaining works to Queen’s Road will be completed and construction on a new sea wall will commence. There should be no Traffic Management restrictions on Windsor Terrace with the exception of the delivery of materials, which will be short term and between 10:00 and 16:00 hrs. Monday – Friday.
