Agenda Item 21 MEETING OF DÚN LAOGHAIRE AREA COMMITTEE 22nd September 2014 TREES ON ROCHESTOWN PARK DÚN LAOGHAIRE
Question: Councillor M. Merrigan “To ask the Chief Executive what measures, if any, have been taken to ensure that the trees along the grass verges on Rochestown Park, Dún Laoghaire, are properly maintained to ensure that they do not pose a hazard to traffic, including Dublin Bus, or to the pedestrians using the adjoining pavements?” Reply: The Road Maintenance Section is responsible for the maintenance of grass verges on roads. However, small narrow verges such as the ones on Rochestown Park are usually maintained by adjacent Householders. In relation to the trees in the verges, the Road Maintenance Section will make the necessary arrangements to trim any of the trees that are causing obstruction to either pedestrians or traffic using the road.
