TANA Netting - Our story
Malaria is a preventable and treatable disease. Yet every minute a child dies of malaria and more than a billion people remain at risk. At TANA Netting we are committed to improve the lives of people threatened by malaria and other vectorborne diseases by providing cost-effective and high-quality preventive products. DawaPlus® 2.0 is a long-lasting insecticidal net (LLIN) recommended by the World Health Organization Pesticide Evaluation Scheme (WHOPES) as a tool for malaria control and prevention. TANA Netting is part of NRS International, a group of companies that develops and manufactures products for the humanitarian aid, development and public health sectors. We pride ourselves in manufacturing what we sell and adhere to sustainable and ethical business standards throughout our processes and supply chain. DawaPlus® 2.0 is manufactured at our state-of-the-art facility H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons, located in Lahore, Pakistan.

Why TANA Netting? • We are part of NRS International, a global industry leader in core relief items with extensive textile production expertise. • We manufacture high quality, WHOPESrecommended DawaPlus® 2.0 insecticidetreated nets. • We enforce a stringent quality management system at every step of the production process. • Our DawaPlus® 2.0 nets are made from 100% new polyester with multi-filament yarns knitted to produce a soft and durable net with a high user acceptance. • The yarns we use are dyed at extrusion, which means they retain their color over the lifetime of the net. Malaria Consortium field testing
Biological efficacy of DawaPlus® 2.0 against anopheles gambiae mosquitoes
Malaria Consortium in Uganda performed field tests on DawaPlus® 2.0 nets for a period of three years. In 2012, the Consortium published the final results. Among the conclusions drawn, the Consortium confirmed the following:
After 36 months of field use 83.3% (95% CI 65.3– 94.4) of the DawaPlus® 2.0 nets fulfilled the WHOPES criteria for the bioassay test, i.e. the criteria of 80% net survival rate for the WHOPES phase III evaluation were fulfilled.

DawaPlus® 2.0 has been validated under laboratory conditions in accordance with WHOPES protocols to determine its efficacy after a series of washes. DawaPlus® 2.0 meets the WHO LLIN criteria for efficacy after 20 washes: • 95% knockdown after 60 minutes (3 minutes exposure time). • 80% mortality after 24 hours (3 minutes exposure time).

DawaPlus® 2.0
Our core product is the DawaPlus® 2.0, a longlasting insecticidal net that lasts a minimum of 20 washes or 3 years. It is soft and durable and comes in different shapes, colours and sizes. We can accommodate product design to the requests of clients.
DawaPlus® Curtain DawaPlus® Curtain is made from DawaPlus® material and can be used as a screen on doors and windows or to cover eaves to prevent disease-carrying insects from entering into the household. The curtain comes with accessories for installation.
DawaPlus® Sandfly Net DawaPlus® Sandfly Net has a fine mesh of 230 holes per square inch that prevents biting from small insects such as sandflies and phlebotomes. This net is specifically developed to control and prevent leishmaniasis. The net is originally sand colored to reflect user preference and to ensure a long practical life. It is also available in other colors.

The DawaPlus® Canopy Hammock is specifically designed to reduce malaria transmission in the remote forests of the Greater Mekong Subregion. The hammock is fitted with our WHOPES-recommended DawaPlus® 2.0 LLIN fabric to prevent bites from mosquitoes and other insects. It maximizes the users’ sense of space by suspending the fabric above the hammock. Distinct insulation zones provide comfort in all weathers. A separate rainfly protects against rain and wind and serves to add privacy. The hammock can also be converted into a small tent for use in cleared fields. 8

Quality management system TANA Netting’s quality management system is the backbone of our manufacturing process, and helps us to meet internationally recognized quality standards. We have an independent quality management department directly reporting to the CEO to ensure the highest quality of products.

We conduct stringent quality checks at every step of the production process. Our quality control team inspects all incoming fabric to ensure compliance with specifications. An independent laboratory performs tests and conducts a final audit prior to dispatching a shipment to a customer.

Production facility H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons
Our DawaPlus速 products are manufactured in our own state-of-the-art production facility H. Sheikh Noor-ud-Din & Sons (HSNDS) in Pakistan, where we monitor the production process closely. The factory is a family-owned and operated manufacturing facility and employs approximately 7,000 people.
Core competencies
The production of DawaPlus速 nets benefits from the cutting, sewing and stitching techniques honed over the years by our sister company NRS Relief, an industry leader in core relief items for the humanitarian sector. We apply the same knowledge and expertise to our DawaPlus速 nets that has made NRS Relief the leading supplier of tents, blankets and tarpaulins to the humanitarian industry.
