CellCount - kit for the cell number quantification developed by scientists for scientists CellCount is a new higly sensitive technology for the quantification of cell number based on the staining of DNA. It does not require cell lysis for signal homogenization and is fully compatible with other types of cytochemical detections of cellular components, e.g with immunocytochemical detections or detection of replication activity by 5-ethynyl-2'deoxyuridine or 5-bromo-2'-deoxyuridine. Signals can be easily measured by plate readers. “Although many techniques for the quantification of cells based on the determination of enzymatic activity by plate readers are available on the market, we did not find any easy and fast technology for fixed cells that had the benefit of simultaneous detection of other cellular components including replication activity.” Karel Koberna, inventor
