Champion 100 Schedule

Page 1

The CHAMPION CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE would like to thank: 

the individuals who got the town “ready” for the celebration

the organizations and businesses who contributed to the food and beverages over the weekend

the businesses and individuals from throughout the County who contributed time and supplies

the contributors of the benches, planters and signs

the individuals and organizations who provided cash contributions

In commemoration of Champion’s 100th Anniversary, a grant was received from the Government of Canada, Canadian Heritage, Community Historical Anniversaries Programming, to provide assistance with the historical and cultural related activities throughout the weekend and help in building the new gazebo and historical display (Legacy Corner) on Main Street. We would like to thank Jane Bexton for her artwork, Brenda Delude and Marilyn Wolfe for the construction plans, Don Reed for his welding skills, Klitmoller Construction, Contour Construction for the concrete donation, and the volunteers who helped with the project.

Commemorative Merchandise is available at the Seniors Center, including T shirts, go cups, water bottles, stuffed animals and magnets. Videos of the weekend can be ordered.

The actual incorporation date of the Village of Champion was May 27, 1911. Much has happened over the last 100 years, and the CHAMPION CENTENNIAL COMMITTEE hopes that you enjoy your time renewing old friendships, building new ones, and remembering all that has made the community of Champion what it is. Check out www.vulcancountyhistory.com for online information and become a contributor.

Welcome to the 100 Year Celebration for the Village of Champion!!

First aid people will be identifiable by their bright orange t-shirts.
