Our intensive Unit Clerk Training program will give you the foundation you need to build a career in this important field. Unit clerks transcribe and process doctors’ orders and manage patient records. The unit clerk plays a crucial role in health care, helping doctors communicate with nurses and ensuring that patients receive proper care. We’ll give you a practical introduction to topics ranging from medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, to hospital administration, transcribing orders and health-care billing. This 20-week program will be delivered in a variety of formats including video conferencing, online courses, a community-based practicum and time at Chinook Regional Hospital in Lethbridge for the Health-care Billing course (4 full days in mid-May).
