REUNITED AGAIN

LIFE & LEGACY

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

(2 Tim 4:7-8 KJV)

Frank Walter Hendrix

was born on September 10, 1954, in Savannah, Georgia to the proud parents of Abbie Lee and Jacob Hendrix Jr.. Frank was the youngest of six children: Willie A. Hendrix (deceased) Abbie L. Hendrix-Frazier (deceased), Mamie L. Hendrix, Jacob Hendrix III, and James W. Hendrix (deceased). Frank put up a long fight with cancer and on May 20, 2023, he completed his earthly duties and made the eternal transition to live with the Lord.

Frank attended Alfred Beach High School from 1969 to 1971. Frank finished his high school studies and became a 1972 graduate of Herschel V. Jenkins High School. In 1977, Frank received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting at Savannah State College (University).

After graduating, Frank started his journey at Savannah-Chatham County Board of Education in 1972. There he worked his way up to the great business man we know today. Frank first started as a custodial worker to leader-man of scrub crew to supervisor to Assistant Chief Custodian to Assistant Director of Operations to his final position as the Director of Operations. He served all schools of Chatham County, where he created a safe & cleaner environment for the students & staff. In 2022, Frank retired after serving over 50 years with the Board of Education.

Frank was a “Jack of All Trades” and loved to be adventurous with his loved ones. Frank loved singing, photography, playing chess, basketball, tennis, football, baseball, going on dates with his grandchildren, bowling, vacations, movies, and so much more.

Frank Hendrix was a baptized Christian. His fellowship started at Mount Zion Baptist Church in the 1970s. Later, he was joined by his wife, Elizabeth, and together, they became very active church members. Frank Hendrix was a deacon for Mount Zion, chairman of the trustee board, member of the choir, and vice chairman of deacon board. Frank worshipped not only on Sunday, but everyday. He loved his church, family, and friends very much and will be missed dearly.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Hendrix Jr.; mother, Abbie Lee Hendrix; brothers, James W. Hendrix, Willie A. Hendrix; sister, Abbie L. Hendrix-Frazier; and wife, Elizabeth Ann Hendrix.

A LE ER FROM HEAVEN

A Letter From Heaven

When tomorrow starts without me and I’m not there to see;

If the sun should rise and find your eyes all filled with tears for me.

I wish so much you wouldn’t cry the way you did today; While thinking of the many things we didn’t get to say.

1 know how much you love me as much as I love you;

And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too.

When tomorrow starts without me, don’t think we’re far apart For every time you think of me, I’m right here in your heart.
