ALPHA KAPPA ALPHA SORORITY, INCORPORATED® UPSILON EPSILON OMEGA May 21, 2017 Greetings, On behalf of the members Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter, I would like to welcome you to our 8th Precious Pearls Cotillion. We consider it an honor and a privilege to present these lovely young ladies to society this evening! Over the last six months, we have mentored and interacted with all eleven young ladies and watched their growth in the program. From the beginning, every one of them has embarked upon this journey with enthusiasm and commitment. It has been very exciting to observe each young lady as she learns what “The Pearls of Womanhood” means in her own life. These Precious Pearl Debutantes have been exposed to a variety of experiences designed to give them a deeper understanding of themselves, and their communities, as well as to introduce them to people, seminars and events that hopefully will have an impact on their lives for years to come! Tonight, marks a significant milestone in the life of each young lady and we celebrate her journey towards womanhood. As we witness this culminating event, we will learn of the outstanding accomplishments both socially and academically for each Debutante. These young ladies are intelligent, articulate, and caring young ladies who are poised and prepared to impact the future and shape the world around them! We would like to thank the parents, guardians, family and friends that have supported each one of our Debutantes! Your support and commitment to them has been phenomenal. It is because of you that each one of these young ladies has grown to be a wonderful individual. Additionally, I express gratitude and sincere thanks to the Cotillion Chairman, Robyn Lyles, for her unselfish commitment and to the entire committee for their diligence and countless hours of service to ensure the success of this program. Sincerely, Ronicsa M. Chambers Ronicsa M. Chambers President, Upsilon Epsilon Omega Chapter

May 21, 2017 Greetings 2017 Precious Pearls, family and friends! On behalf of the 2017 Precious Pearls Cotillion Committee, I would like to extend our deepest joy and sincere gratitude for the opportunity to pour into the lives of the eleven young ladies being presented on this grand occasion. Tonight’s ball is the highlight of a six month cotillion program filled with enriching workshops, cultural outings, community service and bonding experiences. I sincerely hope that these young ladies, our “Debs”, have grown and developed a bond with one another that will last a lifetime. I would like to thank the parents for their support and commitment to their Precious Pearl and the program. As the cliché states, “it takes a village” and we could not have achieved our program goals without parental support. Whether it was making sure your Deb got to an event on time, helping during workshops, or being that gentle voice of encouragement, your help was greatly appreciated. I would like to thank my chapter, Upsilon Epsilon Omega, for their unwavering support of the program, the Debutantes and the cotillion committee. We are entering our 8th year and with the commitment and dedication of each of our 100 plus members, the cotillion program is truly “unstoppable”! I would also like to thank the 2016-2017 Precious Pearls Committee. There are no words to describe the gratefulness I have for all of your hard work and dedication. I would like to acknowledge each act of service, no matter how big or small, that went into ensuring the success of the entire program. I appreciate each and every one of you! Lastly, to the Debs, it has been a pleasure working with and getting to know you these past six months. I hope that this experience has brought you perspective, knowledge and most importantly friendships to last a lifetime. It is my hope that you continue to cultivate your “Pearls of Womanhood”. To those Debutantes who are graduating: cultivate the pearls of commitment and dedication. Remember the values instilled in you by your family. Do well, have fun and make everyone proud- especially yourselves! To those who are entering their senior year: cultivate the pearls of hope and tenacity. Push through, make memories and just know that the best is yet to come! To all of the Precious Pearls, I can’t wait for you to show the world how precious you are! Just like a pearl, you have been safe inside of your family’s shell, being cultivated with love, encouragement, discipline and wisdom. It is now time for the world to see your beauty and shine! I wish you success beyond your wildest imagination, more happiness than your heart can hold and an abundance of love- so much so, you will have no choice but to give some away! You’re a pearl. You’re unique, special and precious. You’re perfect...” ~ Unknown With love,
Robyn Lyles 2017 Precious Pearls Cotillion Chairman

Chartering members include Joy Alford Graham, Princess F. Battle, Patricia T. Brent, Vanessa D’Arville, Brenda Davis, Linda Davis, Donna Dawson, Monica L. Gaines, Carol Hayward-Faulk, DeBorah Holt, L. Michelle Jackson, Tammy L. Jones, Leslie S. Lyles, Lisa L. Mack, P. Dolores Mbah, Thetius Saunders, Greer Shorter, Dolores Morton Spriggs, Gretchen Styles, Juanita A. Tillery, and Ursula Walston. Today, UEO is an award-winning chapter and remains the only Baltimore County graduate chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Under the motto, Uplifting and Empowering Ourselves, Uplifting and Empowering Others, UEO has been devoted to serving the Baltimore County community. Over the past 20 years, UEO has given out over $35,000 in scholarships and implemented programs of service related to education, health, economics and improving the lives of the citizens of Baltimore County. from Uncle Steve, Aunt Diane and Boots It is not fancy hair, gold jewelry or fine clothes that should make you beautiful. No, your beauty should come from inside you – the beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit. That beauty will never disappear and it is worth very much to God. -1 Peter 3:3,4
