Outlook: The Lady Pioneers will be playing for their third coach in as many years this season as Mark Harris takes the reigns from Clay Stephens who departed for Weatherford after a one-year stint in Stillwater. Harris said he is happy with the group of players he has, and that the Lady Pioneers should be a fun group to watch this year. “We have a group of great kids that have a willingness to work hard and play together. We will improve as the season progresses but with Dylan Fix (5-5, Jr.) on the outside and Lauren Stettnisch (5-10, Sr.) on the inside we should be exciting to come and watch play,” Harris said. The two players Harris mentioned will give the Lady Pioneers a serious inside-out threat. Last season Stettnisch averaged 13.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per game and Fix added 12.6 points and 3.0 assists per contest. The Lady Pioneers will also have three other seniors that should factor into the
starting lineup this year. Guards Alicia Taylor (5-5, Sr.) and Larissa Dawes (5-6 Sr.) will give Stillwater a good amount of leadership on the perimeter while Mary Lawson (5-8, Sr.) will spend her time patrolling the lane after averaging 4.5 rebounds per game. Outlook: Last season the Pioneers finished 17-9 and will be bringing back three starters this year. Head coach Micheal Davis said that his motto for this team is a simple one-word phrase, “decide.” “Decide if they want to be state champs.
Decide if they want to achieve on the court,” Davis said. The biggest impact player this year for the Pioneers will be Trey Holcomb (6-0, Sr.) who is capable of playing any spot on the floor. Last season Holcomb averaged 5.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game and wll be expected to do even more this year. Jake Green (5-8, Jr.) and Alec Noftsger (5-8, Fr.) will have more defined roles this year with both players seeing a good amount of time at point guard. Jordan Brown (6-4, Jr.) and Hunter Hall (6-4, Sr.) will both give the Pioneers some length as they work as the team’s small forwards. Stillwater High Schools basketball player Trey Holcomb is the Character Counts Athlete of the Month. As basketball for his only sport, Holcomb has time to serve for FCA and help local basketball players at the YMCA to improve their game. He is a diehard OSU sports fan and attends many sporting events for the university. As a great student, athlete and guy of high character and integrity, Holcomb has high hopes for the future. He would like to own several businesses and be self-employed after getting a degree at OSU. In his free time, Trey enjoys hanging with friends, spending time with family and bowling.

Stillwater High School Stillwater High’s Rachel Brown has been an avid member of FCA for the past six years. Hearing about it through the school announcements, Brown decided to try it out and has loved it ever since. “FCA has impacted my athletic life by giving me a great base of friends that love to glorify Him through playing sports,” Brown said. Her beliefs and the community at FCA have helped keep her ground in both academics and sports, especially when things don’t always go the right way. “FCA has helped me keep my life in the correct perspective and know what is really important in this world, even when we didn’t qualify for a state meet,” Brown said.

Outlook: Bringing back four starters off a team that went 16-6 the previous season is always a good thing and that is exactly the situation the Lady Demons have to look forward to this year. Head coach Jerry Burnett said his sights are once again set on the Big House this year. “After a rebuilding year last year we are looking to make another run to the state tournament,” Burnett said. Key in helping the Lady Demons achieve those goals will be the play of guard Bailey Wensler (5-8, Sr.). Last season Wensler averaged 13.9 points and 4.5 rebounds a game and will be the team’s catalyst on the perimeter once again this year. Also working on the outside will be Reagan O’Donnell (5-9, Jr.) and Rylee Craycraft (5-7, Sr.). While
neither played a major role scoring the ball last season, both guards will still be instrumental in any success the Lady Demons have this year. On the interior, Erica Stevenson (6-2, So.), is a transfer from Stillwater and should play a major role this season. Everything starts in the frontcourt for the Demons where center Talon Sharp (6-6 Sr.) patrols the paint. Last year Sharp averaged 13.2 points and six rebounds per game and will need to do even more this year as one of the team’s senior leaders. Thunder Sharp (6-4, Sr.) will get the nod at one of the forward spots this year after averaging 9.3 points and 4.7 rebounds a game last year. Finally Addenn Springer
(6-2, So.) will round out the frontcourt trio in the starting rotation. At guard expect Bryce Wells (6-0, Jr.) and Trey Watt (5-9, Jr.) to be the go to players on the perimeter. Meanwhile three freshman, Brandon Martin, Ethan Hobbs and Chad Black also have a chance to play big minutes off the bench this year for Perkins. This season Perkins returns just two starters off that team however and will need to rely on a solid core of young talent if they

Outlook: The Lady Maroons bring back just one starter from last season but that fact isn’t putting a damper on head coach Wade Wright’s hopes. “We have a lot of holes to fill with just one returning starter from last year, yet I am excited about this team and what they can accomplish,” Wright said. The team’s lone returning starter is forward Ireya Calderon (5-9, Sr.) who averaged 10 points per game a year ago and has grown a lot as a player over the summer according to Wright. Kayden Burtner (5-8, So.) and Autumn Lambert (5-9, Sr.) are expected to help out in the frontcourt and give the Lady Maroons a presence in the paint. In the backcourt guards Kenzee Peetoom (5-6, Jr.) and Emily Glass (5-5, Sr.) will be the two players the Maroons count on getting the most production out of. Outlook: Blackwell is a blue-collar community and the Maroons truly embody that, a fact not lost on their head coach. “This is one of the best, most hard working teams I have ever coached.” Four starters return for Blackwell from last season, led by Brady Burtner (6-1, Sr.) at point guard. A jack-of-all-trades player Burtner averaged 9.6 points, 3.7 assists and 3.3 rebounds a game last year. When asked about impact players Valerius raved about his senior point guard. “Brady is a point guard that can do it all. He rebounds, defends, passes and scores. He is extremely quick and smart and has really worked hard on his outside shot this summer so he will 12

be an even tougher matchup this year,” Valerius said. Christian Wachel (6-1, Sr.) averaged 4.7 points and 2.8 rebounds per game from his guard spot last year and should make an even bigger splash this year. Also making an impact in the backcourt will be Brock Shepherd (6-1, Jr.) and John Strahorn (6-0, Sr.). While the Maroons don’t have much size expect Matt Bennett (6-2, Sr.) to get significant minutes at the forward spot this season. Outlook: “I feel good about this team. We lost some starters but return our top two scorers and three of our top five. We got younger but also got a lot more athletic,” head coach Ron Dwyer said. “Look for this young team to improve all season long. I think they should improve quickly but the key will be keeping our record respectable until things fall into place for these freshmen.” Overall the Lady Maroons return three starters this year in the form of Megan Drake (5-8, Sr.), Karlie Arnold (5-7, Sr.) and Jessica Venard (5-4, So.). Drake and Arnold both bring good height and length to the Perry frontcourt while Venard will be the team’s starting point guard. The Lady Maroons also expect to get a big boost from guard Olivia Buck (5-7, So.) and forward Maddie Miner (5-8, So.). Mikenzi Richards (5-6, Jr.) is a versatile player that that will also see big minutes in the Lady Maroons rotation as a forward who can play inside but also step out and knock down open shots. Outlook: After finishing with just eight wins last year the Maroons are hungry for success this season. Five starters return for Perry to help make that hunger a reality but head coach Brandon Hight says his team needs to keep working to get better. “We have lots of experience returning from last year. We started off slow last year but won three of our last five including two wins in the playoffs. This year we have to continue to work hard and improve defensively,” Hight said. Leading the Maroons this year will be forward Chris Adams (6-5, Sr.) who averaged 17.6 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last year. Guard Jacob Albritton (5-11, Sr.) gives the Perry offense good balance averaging 12.1 points per game a year ago. Both Adams and Albritton will be three-year starters this year and have the experience that makes players dangerous in clutch situations. Guards Logan Lewis (5-9, Sr.) and Braden Sweet (6-0, Sr.) are also key players on the perimeter. Lewis is the team’s point guard and chief distributor of the basketball while Sweet could go by the name “Mr. Hustle” due to his defensive acumen and willingness to get on the floor to track down loose balls. The Maroons will be a very deep team this year and fans can expect forwards Sam Chambers (6-1, So.), Blake Weaver (6-3, Sr.) and James Boone (6-0, Sr.) to all challenge for starting spots this year. Also in that same position this year will be guards Ty Walker (5-7, So.), Joe Rupp (5-10, Sr.) and Landon Matthesen (5-11, Sr.). Outlook: With the Lady Tigers trying to improve on last season’s 8-13 overall record head coach Kayla Allen will lean on four returning starters. “We have nearly all of our players returning from last year’s team. With that being said we have a very positive outlook on this season,” Allen said. “The playing time and experiences that our players gained and faced throughout the course of last season provided them with an invaluable knowledge of the game. We expect to turn a lot of heads throughout the season. We fully expect to take our program further into the playoffs.” The leading lady for the Lady Tigers this year will be guard Carley Stallard (5-7, G Sr.) who averaged 14.6 points, 4.2 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game last year. Helping Stallard on the perimeter will be Bailey Roe (5-4, Sr.) and Lexi Roe (59, So.). Last season Bailey did a bit of everything averaging 5.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.9 steals
per game. Lexi meanwhile put up very good numbers in her freshman campaign with averages of 4.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 steals per game. Transfer Sarah Wilson (5-8, Sr.) will also start at guard this year and be a key contributor. In the frontcourt Mallory Cowen (60, Jr.) will anchor things for the Lady Tigers after averaging 8.7 points and 5.8 rebounds per game last season. Sophomore power forward Cheyenne Bartling will also be a key player to watch inside coming off the bench as the team’s sixth man. Outlook: For the past several years Cleveland has turned to a player named Reeves to lead the way. The past two seasons that has been Derek Reeves, but this season the Tigers will look to Derek’s younger brother Eric Reeves (6-3, Sr.) to be their impact player. “Eric is ready to step up and take over the senior leadership. He’s
been a great defensive player for two years and now we will have his scoring along with his defense,” head coach Daniel Brimmer said. With Reeves occupying one forward spot look for Desmond Freeman (62, Jr.) who averaged four points and four rebounds per game last year to round out the starting frontcourt. Meanwhile at point guard Ty Smith (5-10, Jr.) will be the trigger man out top with Maverick Ball (6-2, Jr.) and Rafael Golaviz (6-1, So.) running the two wing spots. Outlook: It’s a good newsbad news type of situation for the Lady Mustangs this year. The good news is that the Lady Mustangs bring back four starters from last year’s team that made it to the Class A semifinals. The bad news? The one starter they lost is all-everything center Marissa Goodman who averaged 19 points and nine rebounds last year. “It’s hard to replace what we got from Marissa but these girls are winners and have high expectations,” head coach Bob Weckstein said. This year Frontier will be much more guard oriented led by Thristian Young (5-9, Jr.) and Kristen Molina (5-6, So.). Last season Young averaged 10 points, eight rebounds, four assists and two steals per game while Molina averaged 13 points and four assists per game. Also getting time at guard this year will be Michaelanne Nelson (5-7, Jr. and Alexis Romero (5-9, Jr.). Nelson got significant time last year and averaged seven points and two assists per game. Rounding out the Frontier starting lineup will be forward Alivia Molina (5-8, Sr.). Last season Molina averaged five points and five rebounds per game and will be expected to pick up a good portion of the slack left by the absence of Goodman in the paint. Thristian Young 5-9 G Jr.

Outlook: Despite finishing last season with just eight wins Frontier head coach Bob Weckstein said he is optimistic about this season. One major reason for that optimism is the return of guard Talon Harris (58, Sr.). Harris missed most of last season with an injury last season but when he was able to play averaged 18 points per game. Jaysen Ratliff (5-9, Jr.) will be another key part of the Frontier attack after averaging six points and five rebounds last year. Guards Jacob Roubedeaux (5-9, Jr.) and Sheldon Kihega (5-7, Jr.) will also primarily play on the perimeter this year for the Mustangs. Inside, fans can expect forward Justin Collins (6-3, Sr.) to be the main option for the Mustangs in the paint. Outlook: The Lady Wildcats begin the 2014-15 campaign under second year head coach Rowdy Cawlfield with an opportunity to excel barring injuries. With a roster that isn’t very deep, Morrison must remain healthy this year for things to go to plan. “We will compete hard and have the opportunity to be good,” said Cawlfield. The Lady Wildcats will look to Jacy Bales (5-6, Sr.) to make everyone on the court better when she is on the floor. With a high basketball IQ and efficient on both ends of the court, Bales is a threat shooting as seen by her 12.9 points per game last season. She’ll be joined in the backcourt by Jamie Lovely (5-7,
the football season. Coach Bales will look towards Jordan Quinata (5-11, Jr.) to give the Wildcats options defensively as he can guard both the post and perimeter. The junior guard is difficult to defend though after averaging 12 points and five assists last year. Tristan Garringer (6-2, Jr.) and Parker Venus (5-11, Jr.) will need to step up and provide strong shooting from the perimeter with the depletion of the post players this year. Both should see their scoring production increase from the numbers posted last year. Tanner Neely (5-10, So.) and Benjamin Harmon (6-0, So.) will see their roles increase in their sophomore season while Tyler Wehrenberg could be a threat off the bench.

Outlook: Pawnee once again made an appearance at the Class 2A state tournament last year, their first since 2011. This year the Black Bears are heavy favorites to get back to the Big House and compete for a gold ball with four returning starters. Head coach David Page believes that is a possibility as well. “If things go right we could win a state championship,” Page said. Leading the charge for the Black Bears this year is VYPE Top 100 selection Gideon Gardner (6-2, Jr.) who will start at shooting guard. Last season Gardner showcased his all-around ability by averaging 22.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Point guard Nathan Brock (6-3, Jr.) is another extremely talented player in the Pawnee
backcourt. As a sophomore Brock averaged 17.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.7 assists per game. Rounding things out on the perimeter will be Brady Malone (6-4, Jr.) who would’ve started last season according to Page if he wouldn’t have been sidelined with an injury. Alex Roughface (6-1, Sr.) will provide some muscle for the Black Bears in the frontcourt. Last season Roughface averaged 4.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game and should improve on those numbers this year. Caylan Biddy (6-4, Jr.) is another dynamic player in the post for Pawnee. Biddy averaged 7.4 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in the Black Bears first 10 games last year but then tore his ACL causing him to miss the rest of the season. Outlook: Last year head coach Krystina Muralt helped the Lady Cats improve to 9-15 compared to 7-17 the year before. As Muralt looks for even more improvement this year expect the Lady Cats to look to a strong core of three returning starters for leadership. Jaden Hawkins (5-4, Sr.) is back at
point guard this year after averaging two points per game last year and will be a major impact player this year according to Muralt. “She is the team captain and point guard. She leads by example and gets everyone going and makes sure they are where they need to be,” Muralt said. “Jaden has also really improved her game for the upcoming season.” Other players to look out for are Leslie Wilson (5-8, Sr.) and Destiny Crowder (5-6, So.) both of whom will start at guard. Last year Wilson averaged seven points per game while Crowder added an average of four points per contest.

Outlook: Po-Hi brings back two starters this season but is still lacking in the experience factor according to head coach Alan Hibler. “We are a young team playing experience wise. Our guards will need to provide ball security and we must find a way to be efficient on the offensive end. Our size overall should be a plus on the defensive end but depth is a concern as of now, our bench players will have to develop,� Hibler said. The unquestioned leader of the Wildcats team is point guard Adam Nicholas (6-1, Sr.). Nicholas is a talented
multi-sport athlete and averaged 8.3 points and 2.8 rebounds per game last year. Conner Larson (6-2, Jr.) will join Nicholas in the backcourt and bring a dose of quickness and athleticism to the floor. In the frontcourt Michael Mongod (6-4, Sr.) and Logan Champlin (6-4, Sr.) give the Wildcats two very athletic post players. Jacob Birnbaum (6-5, Jr.) will also be a major factor in the paint as he is relied on to clean the glass night in and night out along with being a valuable scoring threat. The Mavericks finished the 2013-2014 season 19-14 overall and advanced to the Region II semifinals. The NOC Mavericks look to build on last season’s late success that saw them win 8 out their final 10 games and advance to the Region II semifinals. Versatility could be the key to success for the Mavericks. With a good mix of size, strength, speed and length, the team should be able to play several different styles. Sophomores Jordan Phelps and 6’9 Jaquan Smith are the only 2 returners but the team has added 4 transfers to the team. Central Arkansas transfer DuShaun Rice and Barton County transfer Kevin Kuteyi look to lead the backcourt. 6’10 freshman Valentine Sangoyomi should provide the team with another inside presence.

Coach Greg Krause, going into his 32nd year of coaching this season, and second year assistant coach Nate Macy, led the Lady Mavericks to a third place finish last year in the Region 2 Conference with an 11-7 conference record. In the 31 games last

season, The Lady Mavericks averaged 70.5 points per game last season, as well as a 38.6 field goal percentage, 26.6 percent behind the three point line, 70.6 percent from the free throw line, 35.2 rebounds per game and 14.1 assists per game. They also averaged 19.4 turnovers per game, which was almost three turnovers more than their opponents averaged, and 20.8 personal fouls per game last season. With 5 returning players and a strong freshman class, the Lady Mavericks are looking to make an impact this year in the conference. Sophomore guard, Jamee Moore, leads the returning players with an average of 11.8 points and 24.5 minutes per game last year. She also shot 39.1 percent from the field and played in all 31 games played. Look for a strong performance this year from sophomore Raetchel Gray, who averaged 10.8 points per game and shot 36.7 percent from the field. She played an average of 21.8 minutes per game and also played in all 31 games last season.
Look for a breakout performance from freshman guard Alicia Sandin from Blanchard, Okla. The 5’10” guard, who played for Bridge Creek High School, averaged 16.1 points per game her senior year and was also a starting guard for the Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State girls basketball game over the summer where she scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds. The 5’7” freshman Darian Hill, from Newalla, Okla,, is another one of Coach Krause’s impact freshman for the ’14-’15 season. Averaging 15.0 points per game her senior year, where she helped lead her team, Harrah High School, to the State Tournament. She was also selected to The Oklahoman All-City second team roster. The Lady Mavericks have a young team, just five returning sophomores and nine freshman, but an extremely talented team. Watch out for the Lady Mavericks this year, they’re looking to control the Region 2 Conference with their speed and explosive offense.

Outlook: The Lady Bucs have built themselves a dynasty over the past few years as they have advanced to the Class 2A state tournament in each of the last three years. Last season Tonkawa made it all the way to the state semifinals before dropping a close game to eventual state champion Preston. Despite bringing back just two starters from a year ago head coach Joe Jacobs said his team is ready to prove their doubters wrong and make another run at a title. “We have been overlooked the past couple of years and still seem to find a way. I think our girls like being counted out, it provides motivation to prove people wrong,” Jacobs said. The offensive leader for the Lady Bucs this year will be Baylee Jacobs (5-10, Sr.) who averaged nine points and seven rebounds per game last year. While Jacobs did the majority of her work last year in the paint she has worked extensively on expanding her range and will be dangerous from anywhere on the floor this year. Samantha Allen (5-8, Jr.) is another talented scorer on the perimeter who averaged 11 points and three steals per game last season. Rounding out the projected starting lineup for the Lady Bucs will be guards Sylvia DeLodge (5-8, So.) and Avery Warrior (56, So.) along with Forward Emily Hoemann (5-10, Jr.). Outlook: The Bucs have been to seven area tournaments in the past eight years but with just one starter returning this year getting back to that level may be a challenge. “We graduated six seniors off
a team that reached the area tournament for the seventh time in eight years. We bring back one starter and only one other player who saw significant time last year. This team’s success will depend on how quickly our young, inexperienced players adapt to high school basketball,” head coach Scott Howell said. The Bucs one returning starter will be guard Tucker Alexander (5-11, Jr.). A player who brings his lunch box everyday Alexander is not only a talented scorer but isn’t afraid to get on the floor and fight for loose balls or draw charges. At guard the Lady Tigers will feature McKenna Pulley (6-0, Jr.) and Emily Elliot (5-7, Fr.). An extremely talented athlete Pulley averaged 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.4 steals per game last year. McKenna’s older sister Kyndal Pulley (5-11, Sr.) will start at forward for the Lady Tigers this year after averaging 4.8 points and 3.2 rebounds per game last year. Joining Kyndal in the frontcourt will be Madyson Smith (5-10, Jr.) and Coltyn Harrell (6-0, So.) who is a movein from Argonia Kan. Off the bench expect freshman Katelyn Schieber to see some big minutes and possibly even crack the starting lineup at times.

Hayden Bergaman (6-2, Jr.) comes back at small forward and will be a major impact player for the Tigers this year. Last season Bergman averaged 12 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game and will be asked to do that and more this year. Completing the frontcourt this year will be Trevor Johnson (6-3, Jr.) and Carl McKeen (6-2, Sr.). Last season Johnson averaged 6.3 points and 6.2 rebounds
per game while McKeen will be seeing his first significant minutes this year. On the perimeter Newkirk will look to Ryan Lusk (5-8, Jr.) at point guard and Corey Vap (6-1, Jr.) at shooting guard to carry the torch this year. (5-8) who is one of the best overall players in the state. Conner averaged 20.4 points, 8 rebounds, 1 block, 3.7 assists and 4 steals per game. Her ability to play all five positions makes her extremely difficult to defend. Junior Presley Tucker (58) will be a nice compliment to Conner. Tucker had a successful sophomore season, averaging 9.5 points, 7 rebounds and 3 steals per game. Senior Sarah Ben (5-5) will be a leader in the backcourt. She averaged 8.5 points, 6 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 3 steals per game as a junior. Center Shelbi Gordon (5-11) stuffed the stat sheet as a junior as well. She averaged 8.7 points, 6 rebounds and 1 block per game last season. Sophomore Josie Rice (6-2) joins Gordon in the post. Rice was injured much of last season, but in her last 9 games she averaged 7 points, 5.1 rebounds and 1 block. This team has four players who could be the sixth man. The Lady Cougars have tremendous depth that should carry them a long way. “We have a good group of athletes and our size inside is going to be a huge advantage,” Bledsoe said. Outlook: After reaching the area finals the last two seasons, fifth year head coach Tom Webb believes the next step is looming for his Bluejacket squad. “I believe our girls are already excited about taking the next step,” explained coach Webb. “The challenges given to our players over the summer were overwhelmingly met.” A junior laden squad, Coyle is aided with a VYPE Top 100 selection in Tyra Aska (5-6, Jr.) at the guard spot. Last season Aska averaged 18 points, seven steals, and eight rebounds but isn’t the only bright spot on the court for the Bluejackets. Shilah Young (5-10, Jr.) is a stats stuffer as evident by her 17 points, 11 rebounds, five blocks, and four steals as a sophomore. Coach Webb spoke of the depth of his team, “We have been together for five years, every player knows their job. This has always been a team effort; shooters shoot, rebounders rebound, and ball handlers handle the ball. With very athletic and experienced underclassmen we should only get better as the season goes on,” explained coach Sumrall. Guards Chaz Newton (6-0, So.) and Jared Weathers (5-10, Jr.) bring experience and high basketball IQ to the court every game giving coach Sumrall two strong options. Newton averaged 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds last year while Weathers averaged 7.5 points, 2.6 assists and 2.1 rebounds as a sophomore. The Bluejackets return guard LaShay Johnson (5-10, Jr.) after only getting 13 games of action out of him last season due to a broken hand. Upfront Coyle will count upon Heath Moorman (6-3, Jr.) and Del City move in Brandon Adams (6-3, So.). Outlook: After three-straight trips to the Class B state tournament the Lady Eagles fell off a bit last year going 12-9 and failing to make a regional tournament. Helping the Eagles look to improve and get back to being one of the top teams in the state is first-year head coach Kelsea Rey. “We have great potential for this season and I can’t wait to see how high these girls can fly,” Rey said. Guard Jessica Blanton (5-8, Sr.) will be the leader of the pack this year for DCLA. In her junior season Blanton averaged 14 points, six rebounds and five assists per game. Point guard Abby Webster (5-6, So.) and guard Bailey Shipley (5-6, Jr.) round out the DCLA backcourt and will both be players who will get a lot of favorable matchups and good lucks due to Blanton’s ability to see the floor and slash to the rim. In the frontcourt forward Chi Anne Jefferies (5-9, Sr.) has a lot of experience under her belt and will be an unquestioned leader. Last season Jefferies showcased her versatility by averaging seven points, four rebounds and five assists per game. When you think of a well-rounded girl, you instantly think of Marissa D. Webb. Marissa is a 7th grade student at West Middle School, Ponca City. She is in the West Middle School Orchestra and plays the violin.
A high energy young lady Marissa loves to show her skills on the soccer field and works hard to improve each season. As a member of PC United ’02 team Marissa plays goalie, forward, and mid-fielder. Marissa has been on the traveling or competitive team for several years and also plays indoor soccer during the midseason, November – January.
“Sometimes I get really busy with other things and my mom has to remind me that school is the most important thing that I have going. I agree with her and work to keep my grades up. My goal is to make straight A’s and I’m getting close.”
In addition to playing soccer Marissa is taking tumbling and ballet lessons. She aspires to be a great dancer and to one day be on the Ponca City High School Cheer Team and/or a Po-Hi Stepper. She also love pageantry. “I remember my
first pageant. It was the Juneteenth Pageant and I didn’t do very well. When it was time do the talent and my music didn’t queue right it upset me. I ran off the stage crying. My mom insisted that I go back and complete it and I did. It wasn’t fun, but I realized that being a part of pageantry teaches you many positive things.”

I enjoy being a member of Pure N.R.G. because I have met many nice girls, come to understand and realize that beautiful comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors, and that we have be proud of who we are and not try to make ourselves into the image of anyone else.” Marissa is a proud Pure N.R.G. soccer girl who loves being in beautiful gowns and tiaras.
