Michael Davis Boys The Pioneers return three starters as they look to build off last year’s momentum. Rico Thompson averaged nearly 10 points a game last season. The 6-foot guard also logged 65 assists and 38 rebounds. Joining him in the backcourt is Caleb Watkins (2.7 ppg, 3.6 reb), a 5-7 senior and 5-6 junior Carson Teel (3.3 ppg). Juniors Jared Dickely and Brett Budke will be counted on this season while freshmen Jake Green and Jordan Brown are expected to see action as well. Finding replacement for some key missing pieces (Tyler Holcomb moved and Jon Littell is concentrating on baseball) is paramount for the Pioneers.

BARTLESVILLE SMILES
Jeni Hendricks
Pawhuska High School Why do you like Cheerleading? I like cheerleading because it is the only sport that supports every sport and is continuous throughout the year. We get the opportunity to show all the athletes that we care about them. What other activities are you involved with on campus or in your community? Tennis, Soccer, Key Club president, Student council president, Senior class Vice-President, First Presbyterian Church (play the bells), Mu Alpha Theta (Math Club) Vice-President. What do you enjoy about FCA? I enjoy FCA because I get the opportunity to worship and fellowship with other students. I go to church, but many of my friends may go to other churches, so many times I may be the only one from my school at church. FCA gives me the opportunity to gather with school friends and pray, have bible study, and sing praise and worship songs in a school setting. FCA is that avenue to my school friends. How has FCA affected you? FCA as a freshmen helped me to get to know those students that are going in the same direction that I am going. Now, I have a group of friends that I know have some of the same interests and values that I have. Right now, FCA has given me opportunities such as this article as well as being exposed to other aspects of FCA, such as an adult chapter luncheon that I attended. Why is your faith important to you? My faith is important to me to help me make decisions and to get me through the tough times, and even to just get me through the day. I know there is a difference in my day, when I do not spend time with God. I choose to not do what other students do because I know that God has a higher standard for my life. When tough times always there to help me and make things better.
