The site is a former French embassy which later sold to Putrajaya Ventures Sdn Bhd(PVSB) since 2014. Due to the sluggish property market, the development for the site was frozen until PVSB find suitable partner for the new development. Hence, a makerspace thats utilise Designed for Manufacturing and Assembly(DFMA) was propose for the site to capitalize on its potential value in enhancing future human capital for neighbourhood and Greater KL. Its location in the centre of KL and nearby major transport node makes it a strategic location for KL Makerspace.

Rather than using the architecture to attrach the public, half of the site is given back by dedicating it as Maker’s Park. This enable the development to attract to wider spectrum of general public to frequent the site once its completed.

A PLACE for all MAKERS.

As the program have limited size, half of the site will be left under utilised for future development. Maker’s Park will use this as an opportunity to attract the public by offering public programs such as skatepark, playground, transquil garden, splash pool and etc. Maker’s Park will be accessible to Damai, Keramat and Taman U-Thant community as well patron of the Makerscape.

As the site is connected to 2 major public transport nodes while also being in close proximity to both residential zone as well as high-value commercial zone, the proposal attempt to utilize the landscape and hardscape as connection system linking all the different programs to its surrounding context.
