Thrill of the Hunt

Looking for a thrill this summer? A family activity? Join us for the thrill of a scavenger hunt that will have you and your family discovering our community while having fun quality time together.

The Hunt Begins Scavenger Hunt Task List emailed Monday, June 14 Collect as many items from the Scavenger Hunt Task List as your family can and put them in a “Treasure Chest.” Be creative—items on the list can be bought, created or found. Label each item with the number that corresponds to the task. Each item collected for the Scavenger Hunt is worth a point.

Ahoy! The Treasure Chest Create a memorable treasure chest out of a shoebox. Your family will receive up to 25 points for the decoration/creativity of the chest. Submit your treasure chest and items labeled with their corresponding number on the list. The earlier the chest is submitted the more points you will receive. Please do not submit anything valuable. Items in your family’s chest will not be returned.

Arr! The Finale! Winners will be notified by Friday, July 16 The deadline for the Scavenger Hunt Treasure Chest collections will be from 8am on Tuesday, July 13th through 5pm Wednesday, July 14th. The Treasure Chest can be turned into the WAWM RCS Department, 2450 S. 68th St. The three families who earn the most points will receive prizes!

SUMMER OUTDOOR MOVIE SERIES

Be our guest for a family movie experience. Enjoy quality family time with a movie shown on a video display similar to American Family Field’s scoreboard (just on a smaller scale). The movie will start promptly at 7pm (the sun is not an issue for the display). Arrive early to save your seats and enjoy some play time with Operation Recreation. Please contact Amanda Schwichtenberg at 414-604-4963 a week prior to the movie date to discover the movie title for the evening. Feel free to bring blankets and lawn chairs. Enjoy an evening under the stars with family. Social distancing rules will be followed during the event. We may need to postpone, make changes, or cancel any of the 2021 WAWM RCS Department’s Special Events.
