INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: DC Capco DC was thrilled to host its first regionally focused International Women’s Day event by bringing together local, in-person speakers and clients from the DMV region to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The event welcomed a record total of over 75 attendees, with over 45 Capco employees and 30 clients representing various DC-based accounts.

The newly formed regional Women@Capco DC group kicked off its 2018 programming with its IWD event. Be on the lookout for a variety of upcoming events including workshops and volunteer opportunities. If you are interested in getting involved, please reach out to Courtney.Bye@capco. com.

In the spirit of the 2018 IWD theme, #PressforProgress, we invited three local female leaders to join a panel discussion moderated by DC Associate Partner, Kendra Gray. The speakers shared their experiences on topics ranging from work / life balance to mentorship and challenges they have faced over the course of their careers. The closing panel question “How will you Press for Progress in 2018” challenged not only our speakers to share their goals in supporting gender parity, but also the general audience to identify how their individual roles play a critical part in the support of women both at Capco and at large.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: CATO On the evening of March 8th 2018, CATO celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) at the historic One King West in downtown Toronto. In recognition of this year’s IWD theme, “Press for Progress”, the evening’s agenda focused on topics surrounding the acceleration of gender parity. Now more than ever, there is a strong call to motivate and unite friends, colleagues, and whole communities to think, act, and be gender inclusive. In response to this, we had 150 of our CATO employees and clients join us at our event, celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women globally.

cluding that although progress as been made, a major gender gap continues to exist. Women make up 50% of the global labour supply and 70% of global consumption demand, but are still 15% to 25% behind men in economic participation and opportunity. These statistics act as a reminder for why it is important to continue to press for progress and why we must join together in support of gender parity.

Our featured keynote speaker was Vicki Saunders, a leading advocate for entrepreneurship and the founder of SheEO. INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY: NY The 2018 theme for International Women’s Day (IWD), ‘Press for Progress,’ fueled awareness for gender equality and inclusion in the workplace. At Capco, the New York office celebrated IWD by inviting Jennifer Brown, author and diversity and inclusion expert and Bonnie Marcus, author and executive coach, to share their ideas on diversity in the workplace. Capco showcased how imperative it is for all employees to be actively involved with instigating change and striving for inclusion in our office environment. Empowered by IWD, Dan Schutzman, PC in North America, believes it’s important to “foster an inclusive and diverse workplace environment, which not only empowers employees to be themselves at work, but has also been proven to positively impact the overall performance of a company. I look forward to more events like IWD to continue these discussions to support increased awareness and change at Capco.” These speakers highlighted how their personal experiences inspired them to implement change in the workplace and

to advocate for others in creating a more inclusive office environment. Jennifer and Bonnie emphasized how bringing ‘your full self’ to work and creating a diverse environment fosters more innovation and creativity in project deliverables. These influential women showcased the benefits of being actively involved with ‘Press(ing) for Progress.’ Through this movement, employees and senior management can help create a gender-inclusive work environment. Inspired by these women, Raghvi Anand, SC in North America, expressed that “the speakers did an excellent job of facilitating dialogue that not only addressed how to promote and empower women in the workplace, but also highlighted how to create an inclusive environment for all employees that don’t bring their ‘full-self’ to work. Conversations like this will help drive real change in the workplace!” Capco’s dedication to celebrating IWD highlights our company’s drive for gender parity and diversity in the workplace. Senior leadership such as Guido Tambo-
