Visitors can challenge themselves through hands-on exhibits and displays, to see if they have the skills, fitness and reactions to race at over 125 miles per hour.

“Singin’ in the Rain, Jr.” July 27 to July 30 Waco Civic Theatre

The Children’s Theatre of the Waco Civic Theatre proudly present “Singin’ in the Rain, Jr.,” based on the iconic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Film. Thursday through Saturday performances begin at 7 p.m., and the Sunday performance beings at 2 p.m. Tickets range from $8 to $10. Mike Irvin Art Exhibit

Escape the summer heat at the Art Center of Waco, where an exhibit by local artist Mike Irvin will be on display until August 5. Mike Irvin is a native Texan, and is a representational oil painter based in Clifton, Texas. He is passionate about his art and enjoys portraying western subject matter. Champions Day for special needs families August 5

Inspiration Ink

Hawaiian Falls will host Champions Day on Saturday, August 5 at the Waco water park to bless families of individuals with special needs. “Very often, Champions Day is a special needs person’s first visit to a waterpark,” said Clint Hill, Hawaiian Falls president & CEO.” Champions Day tickets will be sold at the front gate until 10 a.m. Champions (those with special needs) are admitted free from 8:30 am – 10 am. Immediate family members/ caregivers will be $10 each (up to a maximum of 4 people.) Tickets are valid during this private event for the day of event only. Once inside, families are welcome to stay all day. More importantly, the Champions and their families will have exclusive use of the park from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m

August 16th, Carol Wood, Master Gardner, will discuss “What to Plant in the Fall”. Come and join the discussion of the bets trees, bulbs, flowers and vegetables to plant in one of the best growing seasons in Texas. Location: The Pavilion at Carleen Bright Arboretum. Summer in Design Den Ends August 11

Join us as we make, tinker, and create around different themes in Design Den! Some activities in Design Den will be provided for all ages, while other activities will require that participants are 8 years old or older. Summer in Design Den programming will be included in the cost of admission to the museum. There will be drop-in activities most weekdays from 10:00-12:00 and 12:30-2:30 (closed on July 4) and on the following weekend dates: June 17 from 1:00-4:00, Saturday July 15 from 1:00-4:00, and August 5 from 1:00-4:00.
