Find a Way, Not an Excuse: Women in STEM presents the lives of 19 women and their contributions to the science, technology, engineering, and math fields, including five from Baylor University. From the clothes we wear to the phones we use, and from the food we eat to the health of our bodies, our quality of life has been improved by female pioneers in STEM. Women have contributed in STEM fields for generations, often without credit. The exhibit focuses on pioneering innovations in STEM with the hope of inspiring a fierce desire to learn continuously and encourage curiosity to lead to discovery.

Since 1982 this nonprofit, social club has been extending a friendly, welcoming hand to all women in Central Texas. The Mayborn Museum Complex is proud to host Earth Sciences Week. Earth Science Week, an annual national program, promotes awareness of what geoscience tells us about human interaction with the planet’s natural systems and processes. The Museum and Baylor University researchers will offer learning resources and activities to engage young people and others in exploring the relationships between human activity and the geosphere (earth), hydrosphere (water), atmosphere (air), and biosphere (life).

Cowboys, Cattle & Culture of the Chisholm Trail Mayborn Museum Complex. Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at 11:00am. Distinguished public speaker, Doug Harman, lectures about the cowboys who blazed the Chisholm Trail, the cattle they diligently herded, and the culture that embalmed their journey. Admittance to the lecture is free for members and included in general admission for the public ($8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $6 for children). Coffee and pastries will be provided prior to the lecture.
