p.m. *Bring your own jars for exhibits. Responsibility for entering only the specified number of blooms or stems for each lot is that of the exhibitor. Condition your plant material before using in designs or entering specimens. Take a tepid (room temperature) pail of water to the garden in which to immediately place your specimens. Use a sharp knife or shears to cut stems on a slant. Cut in late afternoon/early evening or early morning. Avoid new growth - it wilts easily. Recut stems under water preventing air pockets. Place pail in basement, without drafts, to cool. Remove foliage below water line of your specimen entry.
