Volunteering

Have you a little time to spare to do something really worthwhile to help those less able than ourselves? Then please consider becoming a volunteer for our organization. Horse knowledge not imperative as training is given and our horses are very quiet and gentle. Volunteering is extremely rewarding, not onerous, we have a lot of fun and you will be working alongside an amazing group of volunteers and wonderful riders. If interested please contact our Volunteer Coordinator Elspeth Gray on 03 313 4041 or 021 298 3224

HomeShare Hosts Needed!

HomeShare brings a small group of older people, who may be socially isolated, together in a HomeShare host’s private home for friendship, fun, laughter and a meal. As a volunteer host, this is your chance to offer your time, home and hospitality to enable those connections to happen. The difference you’ll be making in the lives of older people is significant and we’d love you to join our team! You’ll receive full training and be supported by our HomeShare Coordinator.

We’re looking for hosts in Hurunui, Selwyn, Rangiora, Kaiapoi and Christchurch.

Please contact: Kim Jackson

Welcome to the Big Brothers Big Sisters whānau!

Pictured on the left is long-time Mentor Peter with his new match Ollie. They can't wait to go fishing, target shooting and get busy in the kitchen.

Pictured on the right is new Mentor Dennis with his match Ryan. With Dennis' background in woodwork and carpentry, Ryan is going to have the opportunity to learn some useful life skills during their mentoring sessions.

We recruit volunteer Mentors all year round. Contact us today to find out how just one hour, once a week, could change the life of a child in your community.
