HISTORY
100 years & counting ONE HUNDRED YEARS OF TRADITION, VALUE, SERVICE, AND ABOVE ALL, BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL JEWELRY AND THE FINEST SWISS WATCHES IN THE WORLD—THIS IS THE FAMILY LEGACY OF REIS-NICHOLS JEWELERS.
Since 1919, Reis-Nichols has called Indianapolis home. In the early years, the company was called the Reis Company and had a niche with designing and manufacturing finely detailed emblematic jewelry for various Masonic organizations. Fast forward to 1957 when William “Bill” Nichols began the journey that would turn into a lifetime career in the jewelry industry and for generations to come. Bill worked with his uncle, Eldridge Nichols, and became an expert on jewelry manufacturing and wholesale distribution. He went on to purchase his uncle’s jewelry store and renamed it William P. Nichols Jewelers. The store originally was located within the State Life Building on Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis until a devastating fire destroyed the site in 1973. The business survived and reopened in the L. Strauss Building the following year. In 1972, Bill bought the Reis Company, the Masonic jewelry wholesale manufacturer, where this story first began. To shift the Reis Company into the retail business, the business was renamed Reis-Nichols Direct Factory Outlet and was opened to the public in 1980 with a showroom at 141 South Meridian Street. Manufacturing was now morphing into a retail business. Bill built a reputation for the company based on his most sincere desire to serve his customers as if they were family. He believed that if he could set exacting standards for quality, value and customer service, he would be a success. He was right. By selling better jewelry at a better value, Bill built a successful retail business and cultivated a very loyal clientele. With a sterling reputation in manufacturing and providing quality and value to its customers, Reis-Nichols moved to the Majestic Building at 47 South Pennsylvania Street in 1988. The showroom was accessible by a classic Otis elevator. Upon arrival at the second floor, the elevator sounded with a distinctive “ding.” The ding became the store’s signature sound and is still used upon entering the doors at the Fashion Mall Commons location and in the tagline of Reis-Nichols’ radio spots today.
Under the new generation of leadership, B.J. guided the company through years of dynamic growth in a luxury direction. In 1992, Reis-Nichols Jewelers became
Having outgrown its downtown location, in the fall of 1998, Reis-Nichols took a leap of faith and built a freestanding 11,000-square-foot store on the newly developing northside of Indianapolis at 3535 East 86th Street. In fall of 2001, they moved from the downtown store and opened a new location in Greenwood. Today, the Greenwood store, located at 789 U.S. 31 North, totals more than 4,600 square feet. In 2017, the Northside store underwent a remodel and is one of the larger jewelry stores in the country at 13,000 square feet, which includes the showroom and manufacturing space. Reis-Nichols offers the largest selection of top-quality jewelry brands in the Midwest with more than 20 designer lines and more than a dozen of the top names in fine Swiss watches. Reis-Nichols is staffed by over 60 employees with some of the finest experts in the jewelry industry, including gemologists, designers, diamond setters, goldsmiths, watchmakers, engravers and more. André vanBergeijk, master jewelry designer, has served Reis-Nichols for 36 years. The Reis Company craftsmanship and training from 1919 is still used by him and our shop staff today. And now, with a legacy of 100 years in the jewelry business, Reis-Nichols faces the future with the introduction of the first employees of the third generation. B.J.’s daughter, Hannah, began her internship in marketing and merchandising when she was still in high school. Now in sales full time, she’s soon to be joined by her cousin, Brian, who also will be working with the sales team. History marches on, but the traditions that have made Reis-Nichols a one-hundred-year success story will continue. “A strong sense of service and giving back to the community we love has always been a guiding principle,” says Cindy Nichols, vice president of ReisNichols Jewelers. “We are proud of our watch battery charity program, now in its 20th year of giving away watch batteries in exchange for a donation, has raised over $1 million for worthy local causes.” Organizations that have been a part of this tradition include the Indianapolis Public Library, the USO of Indiana, Second Helpings, the Indy Honor Flight, American Red Cross, School on Wheels, Wheeler Mission, the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra, as well as many others. “This is my family’s business. My father built this company by valuing honesty, service and respect, and I aim to continue this tradition as we look toward our next 100 years,” says B.J. Nichols, President of Reis-Nichols Jewelers. “It has been our honor to be a part of the lives of our customers. We look forward to helping craft beautiful keepsakes and preserve precious memories for years to come.”
REIS-NICHOLS
Later in 1988, Bill sold Reis-Nichols to the next generation—his five children: Cindy, Linda, Brenda, Karla and William “B.J.” Jr. No strangers to the family business, all five worked for Reis-Nichols, beginning when they were still in school. It was part of the family culture to work in the business so they were well-prepared when the time came to take over.

SPIRITS
18: A very good year YES, IT’S 2018, AND IN THE WORLD OF SPIRITS, YOU’LL FIND IT HARD TO PASS UP THE TASTE OF WELL-AGED LIQUOR. SO HERE ARE FIVE—EACH 18 YEARS OLD— THAT WILL HIT THE SPOT. What’s in a number? In Judaism, there’s a belief that 18 is lucky, while the same number is associated with abundance and wealth in Chinese folklore. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a hold of and sip one (or all) of these under-the-radar spirits. They might not result in riches, but we know you’ll treasure their tastes.

The story behind this rum’s name is almost as rich as the liquor itself. “Kirk and Sweeney” was the name of a wooden schooner used to smuggle rum from the Caribbean to the United States during Prohibition. Luckily, connoisseurs today don’t have to wait as long for a taste of the copper-colored rum. The liquor is crafted from raw sugarcane and exudes the aroma of dried fruits, hints of honey and warm vanilla.

After traditional aging in oak casks and additional aging in port barrels, just 800 bottles are available of this single cask Gelas Bas-Armagnac. In the mouth, this brandy expresses notes of crystallized clementine, candied apple and lemon, and a hint of smooth blackberry cream. The distinct aromas of caramel, toasted oak and vanilla create a pleasant experience on the nose.
They grow up so fast! And this Scotch whisky is especially mature for its age, thanks to the watchful eyes and patience of Glenfiddich’s master distillers. They individually number each bottle and supervise the aging to ensure proper maturation. From its inception to formative years, Glenfiddich whisky undergoes an intense marrying period so its fruity and rich oak flavors can intertwine and fully develop.

This straight rye whiskey is the oldest release of Lock Stock & Barrel to date—making it quite the coveted craft liquor. It is a robust cut whiskey, having been unfiltered after its distillation. The aging process tames its spicy overtones and brings out hints of candied ginger, vanilla and cherry. And despite its high proof, this rye is smooth enough to be enjoyed without ice.

Fuenteseca Reserva tequila was aged for six years in Atotonilco El Alto before spending 12 years aging in El Chapingo. It is free of the artificial coloring and flavors now found in some añejo tequilas on the market. The natural process allows the liquor to develop its authentic gold coloring, creamy vanilla taste and palate-pleasing cedar and sandalwood undertones.

SPECIAL PROMOTION
breitling’s navitimer 8 A TRIBUTE TO ONE OF WATCHMAKING’S GREATEST LEGACIES. Breitling, famous for its chronographs and its strong link to aviation, has just launched a new pilot’s watch collection: the Navitimer 8. The 8 in its name is a nod to the Huit Aviation Department, which was set up in 1938 to produce cockpit instruments as well as classic pilot’s watches for civilian and military use. At the time, Willy Breitling chose the name “Huit,” the French word for eight, as a reference to the eight-day power reserve offered by its storied cockpit instruments. Georges Kern, Breitling’s CEO since the summer of 2017, is particularly excited about the new product line. “With the Navitimer 8,” he says, “we are honoring not only our rich heritage but also our pioneering role in building chronographic instruments. But while the Navitimer 8 pays tribute to our past, it also does something considerably more important. It opens the door to a very exciting future.” The Navitimer 8 family introduces five distinct models that are worthy heirs to watchmaking’s richest aviation tradition, drawing heavily on Breitling’s design DNA and the technical features of the first board clocks and pilot’s wristwatches as well as on the Huit Aviation Department’s commitment to quality.
019_REIS_FW18.indd 1
Each of the five new models in the collection expresses a design code —conceived down to the minutest detail—with a high recognition value. Guy Bove, creative director at Breitling, who fully immersed himself in the design of the board clocks and wristwatches created by the Huit Aviation Department, described the inspiration behind the Navitimer 8’s exterior design cues as follows: “With the Navitimer 8, we wanted to create a watch that was in line with our vision for the brand’s future, but which would also pay tribute to the great Breitling watches of the early to mid-20th century. From a design perspective, it occupies a unique position between Huit’s onboard clocks and the Navitimer.” The new watches resurrect some of the design values of the Huit Aviation Department’s onboard clocks—especially in terms of the dials and bezels—as well as Breitling’s iconic pilot’s watch, Reference 768, with the rotating bezel and distinctive triangular pointer that made it a favorite among pilots. Just as important were the luminous hands against black dials, a combination that offered easy readability in any lighting conditions, and which also contributed to Breitling’s aviation heritage. The Navitimer 8 watches recall the uncompromising flair of that earlier era.

Freshwater or saltwater, natural or cultured, Tahitian or Akoya, pearls inspire a love that spans generations.

ALWAYS IN STYLE, THESE CLASSIC JEWELS ADD A TOUCH OF SIMPLE, LUSTROUS ELEGANCE. By Rita Guarna Whatever oyster first dreamed of pearls had no idea the gems would shine for millennia. Pearls pop up in the Bible and the Koran; were prized by the ancient cultures of Egypt, India and China; and were a big reason—so the historian Suetonius tells us—that Julius Caesar invaded Britain. The costly gem symbolized purity, but also wealth, as usually only royalty or nobility could afford pearls. With the advent of cultured pearls in the early 1900s, that changed. Since famous French fashion designer Coco Chanel incorporated them into mainstream fashion almost a century ago, pearls have become the accessory that makes a look—and never gets old. Today, a new generation of celebrities and tastemakers is appropriating this timeless gem, giving pearls modern meaning and edge. Far from Park Avenue, fashionable women of all ages
are throwing on strands of pearls with everything from black lace cocktail dresses to blue jeans and white T-shirts. From the concert stage to the red carpet, British singer Rita Ora has used a smattering of differentsized pearls to create youthful yet ethereal hair accessories. Singer-songwriter Rihanna rocks pearls with sexy multi-strand collars and layers upon layers of matinee-length strands. Actresses Emma Stone and Lupita Nyong’o have added luster beyond their accessories, wearing pearlcovered gowns for black-tie events. Actress Jessica Alba has been photographed many times wearing pearl earrings. From decidedly modern black pearl-drop earrings to a pair of hanging gold chains punctuated with small luminescent pearls to front-and-back bauble pearl studs, Alba proves that pearl earrings
transition seamlessly from day to night. Whether you prefer the iconic five-strand pearl necklace Audrey Hepburn wore in Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Kate Middleton’s funky white pearl lariat, there are many trendy ways to wear pearls now. For a preppy look, headbands, hair clips and other hair accessories are getting the spotlight. For a more avant-garde approach, pearls are being used as accents in art-inspired sculptural earrings. The unique shapes and textures of baroque pearls make the perfect accessories for a free-spirited boho style. For traditionalists looking for a twist on a classic, the Gucci loafer received an update with pearl-studded heels. But perhaps the final word on pearls came, with fitting simplicity, a half-century ago from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. “Pearls,” she said, “are always appropriate.”
THE GEM OF QUEENS Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but pearls are a woman’s timeless companion. Long known as “the queen of gems” because of their popularity with royalty (among the few who could afford them), pearls have gone mainstream without losing their elegance. Today’s celebrities are making sophisticated and sexy fashion statements with them. From Scarlett Johansson’s luxurious multi-strand, layered look to Jennifer Lawrence’s chic front-and-back black pearl-stud earrings, young fashionistas are donning this classic gem with bold, modern style.

DAVID YURMAN OFFERS MODERN UPDATES TO HIS BELOVED COLLECTIONS.
36
REIS-NICHOLS
From his early years creating jewelry, David Yurman’s palette has included uniquely cut gemstones in unconventional hues. This season, Yurman revisits his signature designs, on some pieces subtly lowering center gemstones to give a more feminine silhouette, and elsewhere, adding statements of individuality with unique symbols, meaningful motifs or boldly hued enamel. Of particular note are updated versions of the iconic Renaissance Cable bracelet, which brings together a striking blend of classical and contemporary sensibilities. The trademarked design—one that has appeared on the wrists of celebrities and tastemakers for more than 30 years—conveys casual elegance and merges fashion and sculpture into fine jewelry. The classic returns in new silhouettes that layer and stack with authentic glamour. A new 5mm width is offered in gold with custom-cut gemstones of rich colors that provide fresh ways to express your personal style. Here, we present three more collection highlights: David Yurman’s newest jewelry that seamlessly layers with the other pieces already in your collection yet makes a statement all its own.

TIDES The designs in this collection are contemporary, sculptural forms that express the rhythms of ocean tides and the continuous motion of waves. The blue topaz atop rows of sterling silver and pavé white diamonds evokes the serenity of crystal seas.
PURE FORM This signature collection celebrates metal’s sculptural properties and explores its range of textures. Pure Form pieces begin with an innovative carving that gives the illusion of the iconic David Yurman Cable bracelet unwinding, widening and dissolving. By juxtaposing sculpted Cable with smooth metal, the designs create dynamic artistic statements. Layer on Pure Form pieces with your favorite classic Cable bracelets.
CHÂTELAINE Châtelaine continues as a celebration of glamour with sparkling diamonds and sterling silver. It’s one of the brand’s signature collections and a perfect fusion of David and Sybil Yurman’s combined art: the marriage of a sculptor and a painter, which has been on display in some form since the couple began working together in 1969.

MEN’S WEDDING BANDS
David Yurman’s men’s bands range from classic to extremely expressive, executed in both precious and innovative metals, including black titanium, forged carbon and colored diamonds. The collection was created to address the lack of options on the market outside of the classic white- and yellow-gold simple bands. According to the David Yurman design team, it has become increasingly important to grooms to have different styles to choose from so they can find what fits their personalities. Men are now buying multiple bands rather than just one, which better allows them to express themselves and adapt to changing occasions and circumstances.

FACE TIME Orlando Bloom’s watch collection would be admired by even the most serious collectors. These three timepieces are among the highlights.
Bloom’s vintage 1950s Rolex Milgauss 6543 was designed in the atomic age and was Rolex’s first watch made for people working within magnetic fields.
BRITISH ACTOR ORLANDO BLOOM IS MAKING THIS ERA HIS OWN. YOU CAN DEPEND ON HIM FOR A SHOW WORTH WATCHING—OR A WATCH WORTH SHOWING. By Daria Meoli jacket and black tuxedo pants with his Bremont AC1 when he escorted on-again-off-again girlfriend Katy Perry to the 2016 Met Gala. Bloom is a practicing Buddhist and a humanitarian. In 2009 he auctioned off several of his valuable watches to raise funds for UNICEF, a global children’s charity for which he is a goodwill ambassador. Pieces on the block included a 1960s Breitling Navitimer 806 and a 1973 Rolex Explorer II 1655 (nicknamed the “Steve McQueen Rolex,” despite a lack of evidence to prove that the screen legend ever owned this model). Months after the auction, a less altruistic organization took possession of Bloom’s prized collection. During the infamous “Bling Ring” crime spree, a group of teenagers from the Hollywood Hills broke into Bloom’s Los Angeles home and stole his watches. Eventually, police apprehended the teens, and Bloom’s watches were returned. The incident hasn’t diminished the actor’s passion for collecting. Whether he is wearing a Patek Philippe Nautilus while out to lunch with Flynn or an IWC Big Pilot 5002 while taking red carpet selfies on Instagram, Bloom continues to mark time in style. And his day is far from done.
One of the most famous Rolex designs, the Submariner is known as the James Bond watch and is built for adventure. This diver’s watch has the ability to resist water pressure down to 1,000 feet.

Put it down, perhaps, to a sense of timing. At 22, days after graduating from London’s Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Orlando Bloom was cast in Peter Jackson’s epic—and epically successful—Lord of the Rings trilogy. The Canterbury, England, native immediately followed up his role as Legolas by playing Will Turner in Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. Bloom has described his early career as feeling like a “rocket to the moon.” Now at 41, Bloom spends less time swashbuckling and more time on smaller passion projects and raising his 7-year-old son, Flynn Christopher Bloom. On-screen, Bloom has some of his biggest star turns accessorized with swords and elf ears; off-screen, as befits a master of timing, he’s an enthusiastic luxury watch collector. Bloom has a penchant for vintage Rolexes, and his collection includes an ultra-rare 1950s Rolex Milgauss 6543 with black rotating bezel and a vintage Rolex Submariner 6538 Big Crown, the model worn by Sean Connery as James Bond in Dr. No, From Russia with Love and Goldfinger. Proving that a man is never fully dressed without a watch, Bloom paired a burgundy Prada smoking
Bloom’s IWC Big Pilot 5002 is impressively large at 46mm and has a simple military design that makes it a standout.

TIRED OF THE SAME-OLD, SAME-OLD? WAKE UP YOUR TASTE BUDS WITH NUTRITIOUS, FLAVORFUL DISHES FROM THE WESTERN PART OF THIS SURPRISING CONTINENT. By Donna Rolando Savvy chefs like to keep up with food trends, and one thing that’s “on trend” this year is the cuisine of West Africa. If you haven’t yet taken a gustatory jaunt to that corner of the planet, sampling the stews, rice dishes and desserts for which it’s known, there’s no time like now. West African food is flavorful, but not too spicy, and—in the style of good home cooking—a healthy choice. In fact, when it comes to quality, the West African diet fared better than its U.S. counterpart in a study published in The Lancet Global Health. It’s the reliance on veggies, legumes, staple starches and lean meats—not processed foods—that makes West African dishes a bounty of good nutrition. This cuisine is on the menu in many big U.S. cities these days—in eateries run by African transplants and in other restaurants whose chefs are bold enough to embrace what’s novel—so no ocean-crossing will be required to treat your taste buds to something excitingly new. Check out these menu highlights:
SENEGALESE CHICKEN YASSA From the Casamance region in the south of Senegal comes chicken yassa (or yassa poulet), a spicy stew served up in households throughout Africa. It’s also available at Senegalese restaurants around the globe, so if this is your first time with West African cooking, consider chicken yassa a good introduction. Well, that’s if you like onions. This is a dish that gets much of its flavor from caramelized onions! The chicken, beef, lamb or fish (all are right for making yassa) is marinated with oil, lemon and a dash of mustard, usually overnight. (In Africa this marinating is often necessary to soften tough meat; here in the U.S. it can make it melt in your mouth.) JOLLOF RICE This one-pot classic rice dish draws its flavor from fried and stewed tomatoes and is so engrained in African life that it’s often considered the thread that unites families. No pot of jollof is ever quite the same as another, so diverse are the ingredients that can go into the broth along with spices, onions and tomatoes. Out of chicken? Don’t worry: Pork, fish and veggies all work great in an authentic jollof. And for a real Nigerian feel, cook it over a live fire for a smoky
version known as Party Rice. The crust that forms on the bottom of the rice means you did it right! Since jollof is such a West African staple, it’s not surprising to learn that this dish knows no boundaries: Serve it at an everyday meal or dress it up with seafood for a celebration. And if you are celebrating at an African restaurant near you, consider sampling jollof. It’s often served with fried plantains and coleslaw. CAAKRI We saved the best for last—dessert! Leave the chocolate-covered cheesecake for another time; to get the full African experience, try Caakri, a dish made from fermented milk and grain and sweetened to taste. You might liken it to rice pudding, but the texture is different and the taste slightly tangy. (It contains sour cream.) The name Caakri (aka Tiakri, Chakery and several others) refers to the grain used to make this popular dessert or snack. While tradition called for common African grains like maize, black-eyed peas or millet, today’s pudding typically uses couscous prepared from wheat semolina. This pudding wasn’t always on the dessert menu. In fact, Caakri is related to a dish once served as the main meal, but that all changed with the availability of sweeteners. Today, you can sweeten your Caakri or not, depending on preference. Serve without sugar for a yogurt taste, reflecting one of its key ingredients; or with sweetener, raisins or pineapple, for a true dessert. Serve chilled for best results. So, if you are ready to take your palate-pleasing to new levels, try a taste of West Africa!
For your food tour of West Africa, sample (clockwise, from top left) Senegalese chicken yassa, peanut soup, jollof rice and caakri. No need to travel—this cuisine is a hot new American trend.
REIS-NICHOLS
PEANUT SOUP This staple of the West African diet brings together a very unlikely combo from an American standpoint— tomatoes and peanuts (or ground nuts)—for a sweet and spicy sensation you’ll wish you had discovered sooner. Although there are many variations of this soup or stew, at its core are simple, familiar ingredients: nuts and sometimes meat and veggies. Ginger, herbs, garlic, Tabasco hot sauce and sweet potatoes are all used to enhance this African favorite— a sure way to provide comfort, as well as nourishment, on a rainy day. The perfect accompaniment for peanut soup is rice, plantains, potatoes and vegetables,
but in Ghana, you might bring on the fufu. Yes, that’s fufu—the name for any hot starch cooked over heat and formed into a rich paste. There’s nothing like this pounded starch, often made from fermented cassava, to make sure we get every last drop of our peanut soup. Most Africans eat fufu every day, from infancy through their senior years, and it comes in many varieties.

HONORING ITS FEROCIOUS FOREBEARS, THE MERCEDES-BENZ AMG SL65 ROADSTER WILL MOVE YOU, THRILL YOU—AND MASSAGE YOU TOO.
Drivers who experience the joy of racing in a sporty Mercedes-Benz AMG SL65 convertible owe a nod of gratitude to a couple of speed-obsessed Germans. In the 1960s, Hans Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher were young engineers working on the 300 SE racing engine at Daimler-Benz when the company discontinued all motorsports activities. But the pair had an unrelenting passion for speed and a vision for modeling road vehicles after racing cars. In 1967, they left Daimler-Benz to found Aufrecht Melcher Großaspach, or AMG. The two tirelessly tinkered with valves and pistons as an independent engineering firm specializing in performance improvements for Mercedes-Benz vehicles. After a successful arrangement by which AMG upgrades were available and serviceable through selected Mercedes-Benz dealers worldwide, in 1993, the two firms unveiled the C36 AMG, their first jointly developed vehicle. Today the engineering firm is owned by the German automaker and more than 50 Mercedes–AMG performance models have hit the streets. In 2018, the AMG SL65 extends the blissful union between AMG’s muscular engineering and Mercedes-Benz’s lavish design. One of the most powerful in its class, this roadster packs a punch with a 6.0-liter AMG V-12 biturbo engine that pumps out 621 horsepower. Able to go 0–60 in just 3.9 seconds, this model reaches its top speed of 186 mph in what seems like the blink of an eye. Mercedes-Benz elevates the roadster experience with Active Body Control technology. The suspension’s sensors and electronically controlled hydraulics
respond to the car’s grip in milliseconds. An automatic four-wheel level control lowers the vehicle as its speed increases to enhance aerodynamics and stability. The height also can be raised for bumpy roads or steep climbs. Like its SL forerunners, the 2018 AMG SL65 provides as much swank as it does soup. The panoramic sunroof creates an open-air feeling even when the coupe is closed. The high-tech glass controls exposure to harmful UV and infrared rays from the sun while keeping the cabin of the vehicle cool. The roof ’s electrochromatic technology automatically changes the glass from transparent to opaque based on the amount of thermal energy entering the cabin. When drivers are ready to feel the wind in their hair, the SL can be transformed to an open roadster in less than 20 seconds, even while traveling up to 25 mph. The car has 12-way power seats with memory, which are upholstered in nappa leather. The seats also are outfitted with a neck-level heating system, a massage feature to help prevent fatigue on long trips, and adjustable lumbar, side bolsters and shoulder supports for tailored comfort. Passionate music fans will rejoice after switching on a BeoSound system designed by Bang & Olufsen engineers. Even when the wind is whipping about the cabin, 12 active speakers and 900 watts of musical power create ideal sound. With its twin-turbo V-12 muscle and superb amenities, this innovative and powerful roadster brings Aufrecht and Melcher’s passion for motorsports and design into a wide-awake 2019.

Surrounded by legendary gems from a young age, Valérie Messika moved away from diamond trading to concentrate on her passion for design. Guided by a love for precious stones, she has blazed a glittering trail in the very closed world of fine jewelry. Valérie Messika’s philosophy is to imagine, dream and create. Her strengths lie in her fertile imagination, a keen eye for detail and the ability to challenge herself every day. In 13 years, Valérie Messika has not

only created a modern jewelry house and built an international brand, but she has also changed the traditional perception of diamonds. By designing pieces that embody the freedom of movement, focus on comfort and highlight women’s bodies, she has invented an original language for diamonds, imposing her contemporary style on a whole new generation searching for modernity. Her reputation and expertise have allowed her to start a new chapter for Messika.
Late 2017 marked the 10th anniversary of the Move collection. To crown 10 years of jewelry in motion, Valérie Messika embarked on an exceptional collaboration with one of the world’s most iconic personalities, Gigi Hadid.
