TRUE TO OUR HISTORY & HEART
when digging through our archives, we came across an ad we ran celebrating 50 years of business that went like this:
“….For fifty years our high ambition and simple goal have been to bring to the lives of [discerning] people beauty through jewelry. Our task, we believe, has been a worthy one. For we are convinced, with William Morris, that beauty is no mere accident to life but a positive necessity. This belief has made it possible to adhere steadfastly to the principles of fine craftsmanship through prosperity and depression, war and peace.
Although there is a great deal of sham art to be had, we know that such work is hurtful not only to the buyer but to the maker and seller as well. Because we are a business, we must of course make a reasonable profit if we are to survive; but we will lose money if we must,
before we will dispense poor craftsmanship....”
These principles still ring true 72 years later. Our goodwill and commitment to outstanding service are our greatest assets. We want to thank all of you who supported us through the pandemic, recessions and the highs and lows of the past century. As we welcome the fourth generation of “Dixon-family” ownership, we eagerly look forward to continuing the outstanding service and selection of jewelry that generations of families enjoy at Schwanke-Kasten Jewelers.
We would like to thank you for coming to us to commemorate the precious moments in life, for it has given us immense pleasure to celebrate them with you and to make them even more special. We look forward to many celebrations to come.
