In a thrilling encounter at the Trust House Wairarapa Netball Centre, Waicol came from eight goals down early in the second quarter to take a 38-37 advantage into the final 15-minute period. The students extended their lead to four goals midway through the fourth quarter, only for Celtic to claw their way back to one goal, but Waicol kept their cool and slotted their goals to cap an outstanding victory.
Wairarapa College - Girls 1ST XI Hockey team
Wairarapa College defeated old foes St Matthew’s Collegiate 5-0 to win the Manawatu Intercity Secondary School Girls Premier Championship. The victory was the first time Waicol have won the combined competition involving colleges from Manawatu, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, and Whanganui, since joining it in 2020.
