ON THE COVER BOB SOVEN If I’m ever shooting the double-up, trying to keep the tow-boat in the shot, I’ll use my Nikkor 300mm lens because I can just barely get the distance needed between the towboat pulling the rider and the boat where I’m standing. Generally, as the towboat driver, you’d never want to turn on the rider while he’s in the air. But sometimes, with another photo-boat floating across the boat pattern, there is no better choice. The hardest part about this shot is safely eyeballing where the boat pattern will cross the wake (creating the double-up) while anticipating my own boat drift, then lining it all up and making it happen. Here are 3 signs of a good time: 1. Riding doubles with a friend. 2. Hitting a rail over and over again with the photos and video to prove it. 3. Signs. 6

Lake Powell Houseboats ARIZONA

Each year at the Liquid Force photo shoot, we’d navigate the houseboats through the miles of canyons until we found our own little secluded cove. If it turned out to be a good spot, we’d camp there for a night or two. As the days were packed with tons of riding, the nights were filled with lots of partying and random land explorations. With the moonlight and stars guiding the way, I stopped on shore and set up the tripod to document our floating party…beer in hand, of course.

This is one of those accidentally cool photos that will happen every now and again. With just the right angle of light hitting the water

housing that the camera was in, the circular reflection you can see is coming from a water droplet, close to the lens (to the best of my knowledge). Taking off the wake isn’t exactly your best position preferred in your typical wake photo, but with the “circular oddity” factor, I thought this shot of Danny could slide. 13

Ben Greenwood LAKE MINNEOLA, FL

There are only a handful of riders who are dialed-in like Ben Greenwood. He’s the type of guy who you can always rely on. He’ll wake up early and on time, bring several cans of gas, and will be the first to uncover the boat, no questions asked. Top it all off, Benny G kills it on a wakeboard. It’s no surprise every photo of him is badass. How do you make “fetchingthe-boat” look good, you ask? Just have Benny go get it.

Of all the inboard boats in the wake industry, the Tige 24VE has the best boat wake for wakesurfing. Need more mini-green-room proof than this? Okay, wait till the next issue‌ 28
