THE HISTORY OF

WALDEN’S

Photography is not simply something we do…it is who we are.

We are a second generation studio… Tim’s dad, Bob, who started the business in 1963, was in a wheelchair from an accident in his early 30s and paralyzed from under his arms down. During his early teens, Tim helped him in the darkroom and studio during summer break as he learned all about life along with photography. As a natural leader, it wasn't long before Tim was tapped to be the President of Kentucky Professional Photographers, going on to be elected as the President of the Professional Photographers of America, an international organization of over 30,000 members worldwide. With awards too numerous to mention, he continues to be a force in the photography industry today, teaching other professional photographers here in the USA as well as internationally.

TIM AND BOB HAD A RICH HISTORY TOGETHER.

WHEN TIM MET BEV, THEIR PATH WAS SET AS THEY TOOK OVER WALDEN’S. TOGETHER, WITH THEIR PASSION AND SKILLS, THEY CONTINUE WHAT BOB STARTED.

Is it possible to have a portrait done for less money than at Walden’s? Absolutely! Here are the reasons why you would

never want to!

We are a local studio specializing in portraits. We do this one thing and we do it well…no weddings, proms, commercial work or events to distract us. Only portraits. A Walden portrait is a marriage of the finest portraiture by Tim blended with Beverly’s enhancement work to create a masterpiece. It is adjusted to rigid Walden standards for exact luminosity and then hand-signed once inspected. Our custom designed lighting system illuminates and flatters each subject. Light turns the ordinary into the magical. We carefully select our materials, each chosen for their archival and printing qualities. Walden’s is often a beta test site for many new papers getting ready to coming into the marketplace. Many frames are available from other sources at cheaper prices, but at Walden’s, we carry a selection of the finest custom frames for our portrait pieces.
