1-YEAR MASTER OF BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION (MBA)
The 1-Year MBA program is an accelerated degree option at Webster University that allows students to earn an MBA in one year. The program is offered in a cohort-based format with a structured schedule beginning each fall with opportunities to build a global network, gain international perspective and acquire substantial leadership development skills. It’s the perfect answer for working professionals and recent graduates who want to upgrade their credentials and be strategic players in the world of business. Webster’s 1-Year MBA program incorporates on practice and theory from various business areas including: accounting, economics, finance, marketing, production operations and strategic management. This program enables students to gain industry knowledge while positioning them to lead now. In addition to a core foundation of MBA coursework, students have an opportunity to build a global network by connecting with cohorts around the world through group projects and assignments. SATURDAY SEMINARS – Three Credit Hours Unique to the 1-Year MBA program is a series of Saturday Seminars that provide students with opportunities for strategic skill development. Courses include: • Effective Business Communication • Managing in a Diverse Environment • Global Leadership Development EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING – Three Credit Hours 1-Year MBA students are encouraged to explore a global business topic through a Walker Global Hybrid Course that includes a one-week international travel component. Students may also elect to put their education to work through an internship for credit or select one of two globally focused courses: International Business or Cross-Cultural Management. CAREER MANAGEMENT Personalized professional development resources and individual job coaching help students with self-discovery, personal branding, goal-setting and career action-planning.

PROGRAM CURRICULUM The 1-Year MBA is a 36-credit-hour program consisting of 30 credit hours of core MBA coursework plus six credit hours of program specific coursework designed to develop leadership competencies and global perspective. Students enter the program in August, beginning with a program orientation and progress through courses together as a cohort. Students graduate the following July.
ADMISSION CRITERIA An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and successful completion of the prerequisite course requirements prior to the start of the program are required. PREREQUISITE COURSEWORK Students may meet the prerequisite requirement through previous undergraduate coursework, completion of BUSN 5600 Accounting Theory and Practice and BUSN 5620 Current Economic Analysis or an approved equivalent.
