Celebrating National Native American Heritage Month November is recognized as Native American Heritage Month. Wallace State Community College joins The Library of Congress, National Archives and Records Administration, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Gallery of Art, National Park Service, Smithsonian Institute and United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in paying tribute to the rich ancestry and traditions of Native Americans. Native American History Month was approved in 1990 by President George H.W. Bush in a joint resolution. Similar proclamations, under variants in the name, have been issued each year since 1994.
