The picturesque 300-acre campus, is anchored by the 12-story Bailey Center, where enrollment services are located. There is a 5,000 seat coliseum on the west, School of Nursing and Center for Science on the north, and Burrow Center for the Fine and Performing Arts to the south, along with state-of theart learning facilities across campus for healthcare, applied technology, STEM and liberal arts programs.

The College opened its Oneonta Center in Blount County in 2016, with construction of an Academic Building beginning in 2018.

Medical professionals like Nursing graduate Steve James who went on to become a nurse anesthetist and then started Kenya Relief, helping thousands of Kenyan villagers annually through an orphanage, school and medical clinic. Rocket scientists like Mary Hovater who began her career at Wallace State taking pre-engineering

classes before continuing on to university. Professional athletes like MLB players, Craig Kimbrel, Derek Holland and Jake Elmore; retired NFL player Ricardo Lockette; and golfers Fredrik Jacobson and Brett Wetterich. PATHWAYS Wallace State Community College offers four Pathways for students to choose from as they begin their college career. S T U D E N T S E RV I C E S The Student Services division at Wallace State is committed to providing students with an excellent support system that bridges every gap students may encounter as they progress. Students have access to: Academic advising, counseling, and testing services in the Advising Center. Assistance and information about applying for Financial Aid.

A wide variety of continuing education, personal enrichment and community education classes. Wellness Center, a state-of-the-art fitness facility to help students have fun and stay in shape. Conveniently located men’s and women’s residence halls equipped with desks, bookshelves, double beds, walk-in closets, and private bathrooms. WSCC Police Department with a 24-hour presence on campus.

The Wallace State Library, which provides traditional and multimedia resources, as well as a computer lab for patron use. A genealogy research collection is also located in the library. The Tutoring Lab open to all students and providing assistance in a variety of subjects free of charge.

Admissions Application An Application for Admission must be completed, signed and submitted to the Admissions Office. Forms are available in the Admissions Office or may be completed online. Send a copy of your ACT scores and a copy of your photo ID to newstudent@ wallacestate.edu, and electronically sign the In State/ Out of State Residence Form (under admissions forms on website). Official Transcripts Request a copy of your official transcripts from all high schools and colleges you have attended be sent to Wallace State Community College Admissions Office. Your transcript must include your official graduation date. If you have passed the GED examination, a copy of your certificate must be submitted to the Admissions Office. Apply for Scholarships and Financial Aid. The first step to apply for Financial Aid is to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with additional paperwork required by the Wallace State Financial Aid Office, and a WSCC Scholarship Application. The FAFSA must be completed online at www.fafsa.gov. You are encouraged to apply for Financial Aid by May 1 if you plan to attend WSCC in the Fall Semester or by October 1 if you plan to attend WSCC the following Spring Semester. The application deadline for WSCC scholarships is February 15 for fall term scholarships. Take the ACCUPLACER Placement Test The purpose of the ACCUPLACER assessment is to place you in the classes most appropriate to your academic ability. You may need to enroll in transitional classes before taking other higher-level courses. If

you received an 18 or higher ACT English score and/ or a 20 or higher ACT Math score within the last three years, this test may not be necessary. Walk-in tests are given Monday-Thursday from 7:30 a.m. until 2 p.m., Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. ❒❒

Attend Lions’ Pride Lions’ Pride Orientation sessions are conducted on specified dates prior to the start of the semester. At the conclusion of Lions’ Pride, you will be given the opportunity to meet with an advisor and discuss your educational plan. As part of this process, you will be authorized to register in the Office of Admissions or online.

Advisement All students must complete the advisement process with their assigned advisor prior to registration for classes. You will need to bring your ACT scores or COMPASS placement scores with you.

New Student Orientation All entering freshmen are required to enroll in an orientation class designed to assist students in the transition to college (ORI101, ORI103, or WKO101).

Register for Classes After you have determined your class schedule with an advisor, you are ready to complete your registration. Tuition and fees are paid online or in the Cashier’s Office.
