"Why live in a white box, with a plane black couch, a grey shirt, a black box stereo, a grey computer housing, a flat concrete façade, a textureless landscape, a monotonous highway?," he asks. "These patterns are about my infostethic obsession. My collection for Wall & Paper consists of explorations in my ‘digipop’ graphics that are meant to capture and comment on our information age.

FLIRTING WITH ART, FASHION AND MUSIC Karim Rashid's award winning designs include democratic objects such as the ubiquitous Garbo waste can and Oh Chair for Umbra, interiors such as the Morimoto restaurant, Nhow Berlin hotel, Philadelphia and Semiramis Hotel, Athens and exhibitions for Deutsche Bank and Audi. His versatile approach has led him to collaborate with a diverse client base, creating design for Method and Dirt Devil, furniture for Artemide and Magis, brand identities for Citibank and Hyundai, high-tech products for LaCie and Samsung, as well as luxury goods for Veuve Clicquot and Swarovski, to name a few. MARIA MONTIEL SPAIN

Maria is a graphic designer who specializes in textile design and illustration, providing design and artwork for international clients from Venezuela, Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and others. Originally from Venezuela and currently living in Madrid, Mariaâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s art is very organic. Much of her influence comes from Latin America and its vivid colors and rich textures, combined with the neon lights of the Spanish metropolis she currently calls home. With a studio full of treasures from various trips and journeys, Maria experiments with art using sketches, watercolors and lots and lots of inks.
