GCSE MATHS EXTERNAL EXAMS
Your son/daughter is to be entered for the GCSE Mathematics examination listed on the attached sheet. The Examination Boards and levels of entry are shown. The cost of these external examinations can be quite significant, ranging from £13.95 £26.90 Please be aware that the Local Education Authority may hold you liable for the cost of examination entry if your son/daughter fails to attend. In the event of injury/illness a Doctor’s note is required. GCSE INTERNAL EXAMS - Y11 MARCH 2012 Your son/daughter will also be sitting Internal examintions in the subjects shown on the back of this letter. It is vitally important that your son/daughter attends school and sits these exams on the days indicated. The exams are used by subject teachers to check any gaps in their knowledge and to inform external entries as well as estimated grades that are required by the exam boards. It is also very good practice for sitting exams under conditions that will apply for the external exams in the summer. When students are not involved in examinations they should attend normal lessons Please check the details on the attached sheets and if you believe that they are incorrect please contact the Assessment Manager.
