It was a time of turmoil. A time just before the advent of an era that became to be known as Steampunk. One man that set in motion the winds of change and another that foresaw it all. And more. And the daughter of a great man, who would become the mother of much greatness through history. This is the story of ...

The Winds of Arcadia

‌and I believe that we can change. Our society has, for too long, been ruled by a class that does not have the common people’s interests in mind. We need equality for all; a way for the common people to rise to their full potential.

And to this end, I propose that we make these changes. To allow those that can, do. And without the barriers of who was in your family in prior generations.

In the background, Mr Scott Montgomery.

Lady Rose. I wonder what she’s up to this time?

There must be a way to stop the Senator.

Let this generation be the one that makes this so. Thank you.

Hmm...

Hmm...

That was a wonder speech, father. But will they follow your recommendations?

I certainly hope they do, Esmeralda. I certainly hope they do. Father. That man...

Mr Bond? He is one of our finest agents. Shall I introduce you?

Mr. Bond. Shall I introduce you to my daughter, Esmeralda...

Thank you, sir. Miss Esmeralda. My name is Bond. Damion Bond. Well said, Senator. Well said.

Mr. Montgomery. Thank you, sir.

But the words you speak must become action. And they shall.

Yes. I must agree that this shall occur. Perhaps not today, or tomorrow

Sir, in the few short years that we have known each other, you seem to speak from a place of knowledge.

Perhaps you would like to join me tonight at my home & chat over some sherry?

I would be honoured. Tonight it is.

Mr Bond. You seem... How should I say? In my father’s best esteem.

And I thank him. He is a great man. But I must apologize to you. But why, Mr Bond? Forgive me, but I find myself mesmerized by your beauty.

Why, Mr Bond. Thank you.

But I must confess that you too, possess a certain charm.

And would it be bold of me to ask you to join me for dinner?

Yes, Mr Bond, it would be. And I would be absolutely delighted to join you.

Later that evening at the home of the Senator... Come. Come. Sit down

Scott. We’ve been friends for just a few short years. How is it that you know so much of so many things.

Thank you

Esmeralda!

Where do you come from? Your past? I know so little about you.

Well, William...

Father. I hope you didn’t mind. Mr Bond invited me to dinner and he has brought me home.

My Esmeralda, Mr Bond is a man of high standing. I trust him with my life. How can I not trust him with my most beloved daughter?

Mr Bond. Thank you for taking care of my daughter. I trust you both had a wonderful dinner and conversation?

Yes, sir. We did. Thank you.

There is something that I wish to speak to you about. And I would like you to come to my laboratory tomorrow.

Mr Bond.

Yes. I shall.

Mr Montgomery is our best scientist and he was just about to tell us something about himself.

Yes. My past? Well... It is a bit of a fantastic story.

And one that I don’t know if you will believe. But I am from the future.

I was working on a project at my home. A device where a portal would open and you would be instantly transported to another location of your choosing.

“That night, as I was working, one of the switches had failed.”

Zzzzz .... Cli ck!

“I was transported. Not to a different location, but here, back in time. About 250 years!”

Oh, Shi...!!!

Well, Mr Montgomery. Yes, it is a fantastic story.

I did say. But this is my story.

And good evening to you, Miss Esmeralda.

But it is getting late and I should be getting along. Very well. Thank you for coming and we shall converse again.

And I shall see you tomorrow, Mr Bond.

Later that evening...

My father does like you, as I do you.

M’Lady, I have never met anyone like you.

Don’t call me M’Lady.

And stop calling me Mr. Yes sir, Mr. Bond.

The next day at the laboratory of Scott Montgomery.

k c o n K k c o n K

Mr Bond. Please do come in

Thank you for inviting me.

I have something for you. This is my latest invention. A multishot pistol.

Sir? It can fire more that one pellet without reloading?

Yes.

Blam Blam Blam

I like it!!!

Sir, I suspect you will be in need of this soon. Keep it and use it wisely.

That wall needed new paint anyways.

Thank you, sir. I will do my best.

Later that week...

Ah. Lady Rose. Please do come in.

William. Stop with the pleasantries. We’ve known each other for too long.

You’re right, Rose. But what happened between you and I? I felt that there was so much that we could have done together.

Well, woman that you married didn’t help.

She came along long after we parted ways. May she rest in peace.

Exactly. But I want to say that you cannot go forward with this proposal.

But it will happen. Even if it is not I who puts this into motion.

Damn right, it won`t be you!

Ugh!!

What the..? Lady Rose?

Father?

No........!!!!

After the funeral of Senator William Wallis...

Your father was a great man. And I can tell you that what he tried to do will happen. Not today, but it will happen. His dream will come true.

Thank you for being a good friend to him.

As for Esmeralda, I shall do whatever it takes to care of her.

Mr. Bond, I am absolutely positive that you will. And more.

Esmeralda?

Esmeralda! No!

Let her go. This is how it should be. I will find that wench

Lady Rose! You filthy bitch!!

You killed my father!

Ha! You come with a sword. To do what?

And what if I did? He deserved it. He cannot just change what should never be changed.

I will avenge my father!

Then let this battle begin! clang

clang

Well done. But take this!

Uh...!

clang

clang

Take this, whore!

Excellent. But still no mach for me.

Thu mp

!

clang

And now. To finish you off as I did your father.

No..!

I don’t think so, Lady Rose!

Blam!

Damion?

I did promise I’d take care of you.

Well, it seems that this chapter of your life is over.

But I can tell you that you two will have great adventures together

Thank you for everything, Mr Montgomery.

And please do take care of your two children. They will be the basis of great things to come.

Mr Montgomery, you so often speak in riddles. Yet, somehow, I believe you.

My name is Scott. And friends, we shall be, all through time.

Until we meet again.

25 years later...

Thank you. Package for Mr Andre D’Carr

What is it, Darling?

It’s a package. From a Scott Montgomery.

That was a friend of my parents. I thought he had passed away years ago. How is this possible?

There’s a letter. And what looks to be plans.

Appears to be plans for some kind of vessel. A boat? But not one that I have ever seen.

It is from Scott Montgomery

Dear Andre D’Carr Or should I call you Captain Nemo, My name is Scott Montgomery and I was friends with both your wife’s parents, Esmeralda and Damion Bond, as well as Senator William Wallis. I bring you plans for a vessel that can travel beneath the waters and is powered, not by steam, that has powered many of my inventions, from factory engines to the airships that will traverse the skies in the coming years, but rather, energy from the atom itself. It may not seem obvious today, but trust in me when I say that you shall one day build this extraordinary machine, and help bring about the changes that society requires. Changes that Senator Wallis died to bring about. Yours till the end of time, Scott Montgomery

Why would he call you Nemo? Nemo.. It means “no one” in Latin, I think.

Come here Captain Nemo. I wish to give you what you deserve: a kiss.

I’m not sure Ariel. But, only someone named Nemo can love you more.

I take it you were able to deliver the package, Magistrate West?

I was. You’re welcome.

But before I leave, I wish to tell you to pay special attention to your grandson, James. Help him thrive as he will become a great agent for freedom.

I promised Miss Jones here that I would take her to see her grandfather in Egypt in my new invention.

Ma’am. Shall we, Miss Jones?

I’m ahead of you. Let’s get ‘er done.
