Letters to Santa Your little one can write to Santa at the North Pole and will receive a personalized letter from Santa, a Nice Certificate and some stickers! Once registered, have your child write and mail their letter to Santa by 12/15 at 5pm. Santa and his elves will reply back via USPS. North Pole Post mailboxes are located at Shadelands Art Center and the Downtown Library’s back entrance near the surface parking lot where curbside book pickup is. Drop off letters between 11/22 - 12/15. Please make sure your child’s name and return address on the letter is LEGIBLE and matches the registration information. Cost: $10 per letter. Center REP’s production of A Christmas Carol December 9 – 23 Lesher Center for the Arts The annual holiday tradition is back in the Hofmann Theatre! Luminary Walk at Boundary Oak by Candlelight Thursday, December 16, 5:30 – 7:30pm Boundary Oak Golf Course Celebrate the holiday season with a memorable evening stroll lit by candlelight through the beauty of Boundary Oak Golf Course. Hundreds of luminaries line the cart path lending a magical flair to the evening. Enjoy music, special activities, a special appearance by Santa and a hot beverage from the Taphouse. Children under 1 are free. Children must be accompanied by adult. Stroller and wheelchair friendly event. Sorry, no dogs. Rain cancels the event. Cost: $5/person. Santa & Holiday Fun Saturday, December 18, 10am - 12pm Shadelands Art Center Celebrate holiday cheer with Community Arts Preschool! Take pictures with Santa, enjoy holiday card-making, a coloring station, and share your wishes for the holidays and new year on our wish tree! Festive attire encouraged. Pet PawLooza Benefiting ARF Saturday, January 15, 11:00am-3:00pm Civic Park Dress your companion animal in costume celebrating “National Dress up Your Pet Day” and join Walnut Creek Recreation and our locally loved ARF in a pet themed party at Civic Park celebrating our furry/nonfurry friends! Registration for the event gains access to area which will include plenty of lawn games/fun, a pet inspired goodie bag, entry to a raffle with prizes from downtown businesses, access to vendor booths and 1 entry for your pet into the costume contest. St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Scavenger Hunt March 18 – 20 Shell Ridge Open Space, Old Borges Ranch Sign up to hunt for all your St. Patrick’s Day favorites in your local open space while enjoying the outdoors. You may even find some Leprechauns hiding in the fields! Follow the clues any time during the window of 3/18 - 3/20. Once you reach your final step, take a selfie and email it by 3/23 to ArtsRecEvents@walnut-creek.org to be entered into a raffle. Scavenger hunt is geared to families with children aged 8 & younger.
