Kids’ Carpentry Camp
French Art and Culture! ‘French Art and Culture’ is an art camp that introduces campers to the French language and culture in a fun artistic manner. While creating their own Matisse inspired collages, portraits, landscapes and still lifes, campers will learn the names of shapes, colors, numbers and some basic French conversation skills. We will dance, sing and listen to classic French stories and songs. Our daily adventure ends with a “Pique-Nique” savoring a French snack.
Lifetime carpentry skills such as problem-solving, measuring and applied mathematics are taught in a fun, supportive atmosphere. The safe use of woodworking hand tools is emphasized while boys and girls, kindergarten-6th grade, work together on boats, bird feeders, doll furniture, games, clocks and more. Tools and wood are provided. Program may be taken year-round with different projects offered each session. Participants must be at least entering kindergarten in the fall. Our motto is: Building confidence and teaching with respect and humor in a safe and happy environment.
