Have fun and gain valuable work experience through this program. Junior Rec Leaders will spend 12-35 hours a week assisting staff members in various Walnut Creek Day Camps. The two-and-a-half-week program runs June 17 - July 3 and July 15 - July 31. It includes training, a t-shirt, instruction from experienced staff, and a completion certificate. The cost of the program is $400, collected when you register for an interview (fully refunded if the participant is not selected for the program). Heather Farm Lower Meadow | Camp ratio 6:1 This Camp is perfect for the kids with a little more energy as it’s specifically designed for campers to have fun and stay engaged while being active. Camp 301 engages kids physically and socially through innovative themed programs with plenty of outdoor space for activities. Half-day campers will spend mornings engaging in themed activities at Heather Farm Park and will embark on a full day excursion on Thursdays. Field Trips are Subject to Change.
Summer is a special time for kids, filled with crafts, games, swimming, and exciting adventures based on different themes. Walnut Creek Day Camp is a great opportunity for your child to express themselves and be creative. They’ll also make new friends and find great role models in our trained staff. If your child is part of the half-day camp, their mornings will be packed with themed activities at Heather Farm Park. On Thursdays, everyone, including half-day campers, will go on a fun off-site excursion, making it a full day of camp for those enrolled in the half-day program. For full-day campers, in addition to the Thursday excursions, there are special themed events on Wednesday afternoons and swimming on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Keep in mind that half-day campers don’t take part in swim days or the Wednesday afternoon themed events.

Session 5 - Safari July 15 - July 19 Put on your sun hats and grab your binoculars for this week-long safari themed week. PRE-REGISTRATION: Pre-registration is required for participation in programs. Please do not attend a program if you have not been registered.

Withdrawals may be done online. Transfers must be done in person or over the phone. QUALITY ASSURANCE: If, after attending the first class, you are not happy with the quality of the program, call us right away. Tell us what was wrong so we can make it right. WAITING LISTS: Waiting lists are established
once a program has reached maximum enrollment. If space opens, you will be notified via email. You have 48 hours to accept or decline and you must do so online. CANCELLATION: A program may be canceled if minimum enrollment is not met. A full refund is available. If a session is canceled due to weather and no make-up class is offered, a refund will be provided. MAKE-UP CLASSES: Make-up dates for missed classes will only be granted for class cancellations resulting from inclement weather or from direction of the Arts + Recreation Department. ADA ACCOMMODATIONS: In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the City of Walnut Creek encourage those with disabilities to participate in our programs. SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE Are you interested in financial aid to participate in a class, workshop, camp, swim lesson, or preschool program offered by the Center for Community Arts or Walnut Creek Recreation? Whether you’re a young person, adult, senior, or family, we want to hear from you. Scholarship awards cover a percentage of the class or program fee dependent upon income or participation in a government safety net program. PAYMENT & ACCOUNT CREDIT POLICIES: • Fees must be paid in full at time of registration by cash, credit card or check payable to the City of Walnut Creek, unless otherwise stated. • All payments are processed upon receipt. • Supply fees are payable to the instructor at the first class.
