A U S T R A L I A N textile company, Walter G, fuses both tradition and contemporary design in its hand block printed fabrics. Established in 2012 by Sydney based friends, Lauren Bennett and Genevieve Fennel, it is founded on ethical principles, a passion for textiles and a love of storytelling. Lauren and Genevieve spent 6 months living with a family of artisans in the small village of Sanganer, India, wholly consumed by the colour, pattern, precision and tradition of the age old craft of block printing. Each fabric that they create is one of a kind, embodying the seaside homes that they grew up in, their travels to the far flung corners of the world, and obviously the lives of the artisans whose hands have printed it. As designers, they remain passionate about and committed to creating textiles that infuse a space with story and design.
