Winter in Venice: photography workshop

Page 1

It is commonplace to believe that Venice has nothing to offer during the winter, actually the winter season is the best opportunity to discover and appreciate the true face of this amphibious city. No hordes of tourists crowded on the streets, no queues on the bridges, no sweltering heat ‌ Also (definitely appreciable factor) hotels cost less! The slight haze, the soft light and the silence that envelops everything, make Venice in winter particularly fairytale and mystical, just like the best Nordic literature describes it. The city is finally lived by its inhabitants, and visiting it during the winter months it is easy to mingle with the daily life of the city, and experience what really means to live here.

This is why we propose you a tour that allows you to capture the hidden essence of Venice, which remains demurely concealed during the months of tourist invasions. This is a photographic workshop, addressed to both beginners and amateurs, and / or to the more experienced. The aim is of course to learn techniques and trick photography, but also you can grasp that typical aspect wintry, mystical, almost “gothic, which characterizes some less touristy parts of the city.

Our proposal is divided into two phases: the first part takes place at the island of San Michele, the Venice’s cemetery, which is well suited to our goals, and a second part, at night (actually after 16:00 when the sun goes down), in the northern area of the city. In the space of an afternoon, the photographer Nicolò Gemin (the author of the photos reproduced here), will accompany you on this photographic journey to reveal an unknown wintry Venice.

You can reach the island of San Michele either by vaporetto (public boat) or by private boat. The tour is designed for individuals or small groups. Duration of the tour: about 3 hours Participants: minimum 2, maximum 8 people
