Whole project: Wilfredo Walter Mayet González
Lic. Wilfredo Walter Mayet González mobile phone: +5353463894 email: wmayet@nauta.cu with copy to waltermayet@gmail.com As professional, my dyplom is as Licenciado en Cibernética Matemática (Mathematical Cybernetics) and I use the acronym Lic. before my names and surnames. The graduate's profession is: Computer Scientist as Software Engineer, Computer Software Designer and Programmer mainly to build Operating Systems.
Lic. Wilfredo Walter Mayet González Dyplom issued by Universidad de La Habana (University of Havana) in July the 19th, 1989, registered twice as follow: 1) In the Secretary’s Book: Tom: 23, Row: 682. 2) In the Book of the Department of Matemática Cibernética (Mathematical Cybernetics): Tom: 47, Row: 1360. Nevertheless in my own case I consider that after finishing studies I had the level of Master Engineer since 1989: 1) This career is on Software Engineering, and the graduate is called “Cibernético” (Cybernetician) or “Ingeniero” (Engineer) instead of Licenciado. 2) Personally I had two (2) certified CVs in my graduate’s folder, the first one on the engineering technical type with many matters not taught in the career so called of Exact Sciences. These matters were still fresh at end of studies and the knowledge of some of them enabled me to face many problems from the very start as professional. 3) I was not a new graduate meaning I finish the career as worker in programming so by the end of career I was just a very experienced programmer and technolog, and was acting as Technical Advisor. My graduation thesis (1989) was on Production Line Chain Planning and Management, which core was the subjects on Critical Path and Resources Allocation from Modelling and Optimization. By the second and the third my thesis was Innovative and evaluated as Extraordinary and Relevant, and the only one thesis of my year of graduation of this career in the University of Havana honored with direct continuation of the studies and researches to get Doctor’s Degree. In the next 1,5 years (1989-1991) I finished the so called then Minimum Doctor Candidate but I resigned getting ahead in the same 1991 by many reasons the main ones having gotten: • •
A better workplace as Specialist in the Civil Aviation enterprise with different type of work core. Proposals to make applications for other institutions simultaneously on the basis of payed contracts.
Since 1990’s decade the career changed its name to Licenciatura en Ciencia de la Computación (Computer Science) and its department is called Matemática y Computación (Mathematics and Computing). Nevertheless, the former today’s old graduate of the former Licenciatura en Cibernética Matemática was and still is highly appretiate professional in Cuba (in those times few professionals came yearly downstairs from the University of Havana or other centers of the same type in Cuba with this dyplom in their hands) and people never call us as Licenciados (Licenciates) but “Cibernéticos”, a “title” inherited by today’s Licenciados en Ciencia de la Computación. Lic. These studies were performed in the years of economic and technical collaboration between Cuba and the former socialist countries, meaning before The Fall of Berlin’s Wall. I won the scholarship to Poland in 1978 because of my very high results as student, not because of “communist card”. In those times “the communist card” was not assigned to me because of “my very bad revolutionary behaviour as chessplayer all time in tournaments”. I passed 10-month course (September 1978 – June 1979) in Cuba in Polish language on the subjects as Polish language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, finished in the first place of the group of 42 studentes based on results. I was in Poland from August the 10th, 1979 to February the 5th, 1982, when career was interrupted in my second year when the Cuban government decided the withdrawal of its students because of “the dangerous war in Poland” meaning finally because of “the very bad ideological influence of Polish people on Cuban students”. Some engineering-level subjects certified by legal document saved in my graduate’s folder: • • • • • •

Mathematics. Physics. Descriptive Geometry. Technical Drawing. Foundry Technology. Theoretical Mechanic (Static and Kinematic).
Theory of Economy of Capitalism and Socialism. Chemistry. Welding Technology. Mechanical Workshops (lathe, grinding, cutting, etc). Foreign languages: Polish and French.

I was studying ship building engineering in former socialist Poland (August 1979 – February 1982) when Cuban government decided withdrawal of its students.
English is my third language I am using QUITE FLUID in speaking, better in reading and writing. I profounded its knowledge first by self-learning during my high studies at nights of Software Engineering career (University of Havana, September 1983 – July 1989).
Russian, I learned reading the cyrilic alphabet when I was 12 years of age for the needs of chess practice, but I found I can use it in some degree in understanding with Russian speakers.
German, I have 4 months lessons in 1981 when I was in Poland and was able to use it in some degree in understanding with German speakers. Later I forgive it because of no practicing.
French, I received one-year lessons in 1980 I think I can try to learn at least one of the last three when I was in Poland but was no able to use it. languages in the case of professional needs. Foreign language studies and relate-to-them jobs

Whole project: Wilfredo Walter Mayet González
Lic. Wilfredo Walter Mayet González mobile phone: +5353463894 email: wmayet@nauta.cu with copy to waltermayet@gmail.com For my innovative computing work in the period of 1986 to 1990 I received one of the highest country’s distinctions. The adjective innovative was proven then and many years later, when some of my applications from that period survived many years in exploitation, for instance, my thesis to around 1997, and other to 2011, for 21 years. Below the condecoration given to me in 1991 is shown between both sides of its certificate.
In general, as computer professional I became an expert in programming with Turbo Pascal, Turbo Assembler, and the family of dBase III languages like Foxplus Plus and Clipper with library Class (Y) Object-oriented, under MS-DOS operating system. Due to Cuban-state “regulations” and prohibitions on the use of computers, communication systems and Internet, I did not develop neither Windows nor Internet applications. I consider my best teamwork performance as Computer Scientist when in Cubana de Aviación we developed a big financial-accounting program in 1993 that raised our airline to the fourth in the world just after the giants American Airlines (USA), British Airways (United Kingdom) and Lufthansa (Germany), which had similar program developed by their own team. Of course, this work raised our team to the world class of software engineering receiving not only praises but many offers to go to work abroad, but I prefer staying in my very hot Cuba. It is very important for the reader regardless of nationality to know that: When I used to be a Computer Scientist “The State” has never given me any minute of Internet connection at any time of my life. And since the times of opening in Cuba to have cell phones (2008), electronic mailing (2009) and Internet (2013) in cyber-café, I have never gotten a payless minute from “The State”. I responsibly state that I owe nothing to “The State” and it is the other way around. It is a long history written and published in Spanish, and in the hands of Cuban government long time ago. Due to this technological isolation for decades I am relatively new to hi-tech, if it can be said it is hi-tech. Many people use to say that I can work and communicate my message to the people using pigeons as messengers or smoke signs, and there are not jokes in those phrases. I ought to develop “brainful technologies” when I have no home telephone, no electronic mailbox, no Internet and… no physical visible computer as it is known by all people.

Trying to become independent self-employed The first experience was in 1999 when in February I left my workplace as respected Software Specialist-Engineer in Cubana de Aviación (coded CU), at these times the biggest flagging state-owned Cuban Airlines (there were two others, Aerocaribbean and Aerotaxi). I saw nothing before me, only surviving handling some kind of non-alcoholic refreshments. At the same time I started chess training after 21 years of absence from the chessboard.

Whole project: Wilfredo Walter Mayet González
Lic. Wilfredo Walter Mayet González mobile phone: +5353463894 email: wmayet@nauta.cu with copy to waltermayet@gmail.com I have no short experience in sports… My father Wilfredo Mayet (17.01.1925 – 31.03.2005) was a renowned Cuban professional boxer in the 1940’s decade I (http://boxrec.com/fr/boxer/71665), so sports went part of my life since childhood but not as boxer though he taught me boxing. When I was 4 years of age and very dynamic kid ☺ my family decided to teach me reading and writing to keep me quiet. My father gave me a dictionary as a toy and taught me how to use it. I became “reading-holic” kid who read everything fell in my hands: At my 8 years old I have 3 books on Medicine and the thick book of more than 1000 pages The Thousand One Arab Nights (I do not know the exact English translation) in less than 48 hours. During my life I have read containers of pages in Spanish, Polish and English, including Gigabytes in PDF, DOC and TXT formats. My favourite topics are Law and History, and try making forecasts based on the given facts. I remain a dynamic old boy ☺. In 1970 when I was 10 years old first he took me to the gymnastics but soon after he enthusiastically showed me how to move the chess figures, left me a chess book for self-learning, and around 10 days after he took to the chess saloon. In 1972 I was chosen for my results in tournaments to enter the Havana’s Highest Sport School, called EIDE (Escuela de Iniciación Deportiva Escolar), where I was to 1976 passing the former 4-grade Cuban secondary school. Some words about my chess trainers. My first chess trainer was Rogelio Ortega Cruz (born in 1919, died in 1986), National Master and former Cuban Champion; the second one was José Manuel Bravo, National Expert, rather trainer of the female team. Other trainers were there sometimes helping us: Gerardo Lebredo, then National Master, later International Master; and Román Hernández, then International Master, later Grand Master. At the time I write this CV, as soon as I know, the last three ones are still alive and must be over 70 years of age, and the last two ones are still professionally playing chess. Thanks of them, from 1973 to 1978 I was one of the forehead scholars (below of 16 years old) and juniors (below of 19 years old) chessplayers in Havana and Cuba: • • • •
I won scholar national golden medal as individual and bronze as part of the scholar team in 1976. I was junior champion of Havana from 1975 to 1978. Twice (1977, 1978) top-ranked fifth junior of Cuba. Once (1977) I was senior champion of Havana and once participated in Cuban National Championship.
Since those times I know our sport system thanks to which Cuba, underdeveloped quite poor country with small but high-percentage educated population, is one of the world sport powerhouses. It is quite unknown that after 1959 and since decades, Cuba is one of the world chess powerhouses: One man, José Raúl Capablanca, World Senior Champion 1921-1927, the greatest of all times chosen by computers. Two men World Junior Champions, and many high-class results like in Chess Olympic Games by men and women. Officially I quitted professional chess practice in 1978 to start learning Polish language to study in Poland. Around April 1999 I came back to chess as hobby playing with former team-mates just Masters, started training to lose with them honorably but in December I have just started training and couching privately first a Woman Grand Master for Cuban Female Championship (in the next February 2000 she won her last tournament of this type) and later young professional chess players till 2003, one of them, a man, obtained the title of Grand Master. Training and couching strong chessplayers motivated me to play officially and started playing again in professional tournaments in September 2002. Following the road of Cuban Championship in October 2003 my two names and two surnames appeared in the FIDE (International Chess Federation) ranking list with ELO rating 2186, positioned on 256th place of Cuba’s ranking. My scoreboard can be seen at: CV issued: 18.04.2019

One of games, rather an endgame, won to FIDE Master, was considered “won in the style of Capablanca” to be published in the worldwide known Chess Informator. For one year, 2004, I enjoyed being again in the Havana’s chess elite. In 2003 I finished writing a book on chess, not published, which theoretical content was awarded by Cuban Institute of Sports to start thesis to Doctor’s Degree in Sports (second nomination after the University of Havana’s in 1989) by splitting the book in two volumes plus the development of software, but in the same time my former wife fell on deadly cancer in October 2004 and died in June the 8th, 2005. I have no forces to continue this project with no computer at home, so I left it and till today I have no motivation to restart it. I quitted chess professional practice again in 2008-2009 with ELO 2139 and it seems I will not play chess professionally again but who knows? I like playing chess from time to time, face the strength of computer programs and I think I do not lose my tactical capabilities. Other sports I have trained with some methodology and practice with some results: Box, judo, table tennis (ping-pong), football, body-culture, and swimming. In different times I used to play football and table tennis, and practice swimming to support the chess professional practice and its associate psychological stress.
Resigning of becoming independent… I started working again for “The State” by the end of 1999 not by failure, but because of lack of computer and being afraid of loosing my programming abilities. Some months later I left “The State” again in March-April 2000, added private chess training and lectures on English language, but still the hostile governmental environment to private persons made people afraid and in November 2000 I started working again for “The State” for the sake of my incomes. And here arose in me the idea of payroll making application in which I put my efforts the next years quietly preparing it to become really independent self-employed for the first time in 2003.
Trying again… Success! In my last period as Software Engineer (years 2001-2010), I went back to the platform FoxBase Plus version of 1988 and its programming language on the necessities of maintenance service to old applications under MS-DOS operating system. I managed their further good-functioning under Windows versions 95, 98 and XP. In 2003 I have just developed robotic-mistakeless human resources – accounting payroll making application. Because I had past experiences as reliable Operator (1983-1984, I made and maintained Payroll, Inventory and General Ledger), knew the basis of Accounting and in 1998 I passed post-graduate studies on Accounting and Finance, then I decided to become its Payroll Maker and Accountant. In July 2003 I decided leaving again the stated-owned enterprise, “The State”, I was working for to go to work on risk contract basis and I went to the unknown and uncertaintiness with nothing: No computer, no phone, no email box, no Internet. But I was lucky at the beginning: The same enterprise I was leaving as a “fixed” stable worker negotiated and signed the first contract with me to continue making their payrolls. They were my stable client till April 2010. There is a long story (maybe incredible for the reader) of how I survived on contracts making payrolls sometimes for three customers twice in a month, for the next 7 years to April 2010 adding that I performed these tasks mistakelessly meaning Zero Error, when I must cancel the contracts when as Tourist Guide I travel out far from Havana for many days with no possibilities of remote connectivity with the enterprises.

My family has no one abroad to keep our stomaches feeded… So after 26 years, beginning in 1983, of working on computers mainly as Sofware Engineer, I made a bet entering Tourism branch in May 2009 to become state Tourist Guide & Tour Leader working for Cuban state-owned travel agency Cubanacán, regardless of losing temporarily my effortful-gained independence… I thought… Studies to professionally becoming Tourist Guide 1. A mobile phone. A mail box to access in cyber-café. Improved use of Polish and English languages. The knowledge of a new economic and emergent brand. New certified profession.
Nevertheless I went to the unknown and the uncertaintiness: No Internet access and no direct promotion meaning at least a published document to be searched in Google. Once again there is a long maybe incredible story for the reader of how I survived. I ought to get up early in the morning to be at 06:00 in the queue at the entrance of cyber-café, in order to get a computer at 08:00 at a price 1,5 CUC / hour. I lost a lot of opportunities to work because it was impossible to maintain this rhythm and its price, plus the price for the internet in cyber-café (4,5 CUC / hour). Nevertheless, at these beginnings financially and technologically difficult (still with no computer), I was helped by friends from Argentina (July-October 2013, founding the weblog/website http://mayetkuba.tumblr.com), soon after from Poland (January 2014), and the standing isolation before me by the governmental rules, step by step, broke off to become really small touristic entrepreneur having added services as Holiday Planner, Representative likewise Travel Agent, Travel Consultant and Tour Operator. I finish the CV with an excerpt of one mail of mine of this year 2019 on the received offer of a partnership in foreign investment in Cuba that is valid for anyone who gets in touch with me in any business:

Better I explain some details. I received offers of the same kind before to be a partner of foreign investment, presented here full-made projects of my own workout feasible according to my country needs: 1) One agricultural to build a factory to juice production in 2011 for one Polish investor. 2) Three in one for the same Polish investor in 2015: a) Wholesale enterprise including the main ports throughout Cuba. b) To build a factory to bottling natural water. c) Agricultural to handle poultry derivatives production. All of these projects are long painful histories ended in failures because of our governmental burocracy and non-interest [like the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Chamber of Commerce], for instance, Cuba buys poultry from the United States of America, yes, a whole paradox impossible to explain to myself logically from the side of my country living under an endless commercial embargo. From these projects you can be assure that I am long experienced professional included economy who ended in Tourism because of many factors, and established in this field since 2012 as private sole entrepreneur to earn the life. I know almost all sides of tourist places in my country and I became very experienced also in this field the foreign investment is always welcome as "the smokeless locomotive to national economy". On the other hand, I am not able to receive cash by bank account in foreign currencies as are and it could be an obstacle in handle funds for instance with no Visa card. Please take above sentences and matters into account before you decide get[ting] into business with me. For your information: 1) Any amount of money can not break out my 59-years-old peaceful sleeping and to place my head on the pillow every night[. To] sleep peaceful is very, very important to me. 2) In the Internet there are many opinions about me in Polish language in forums, but I do not know if there are in English. 3) I am relatively new on the Internet and my access to the global network is in cyber-cafes, but I know the nowadays is very advanced.
