Driving the global transition to electrification

As a leader in the design and manufacture of eco-smart home energy technologies, myenergi’s ambition is clear – to create a positive impact, push the boundaries of possibility and change the world through pioneering green solutions.

The company started with nothing, apart from a few good ideas and a serious passion for change. Growing rapidly from a team of two to staff numbers in excess of 400, myenergi has since opened subsidiaries in Germany, Ireland, Australia and the Netherlands. There are now more than 3,000 myenergi-approved installers in the UK alone, while upwards of 300,000 devices have been shipped worldwide.

The company’s acclaimed product range includes zappi – the world’s first eco-smart electric vehicle (EV) charger; eddi – a clever device that directs surplus renewable energy to your hot water cylinder, underfloor heating, towel rail or storage heaters; and harvi – myenergi’s state-of-the-art energy harvesting sensor. Each product is built on a commitment to circularity and a vision of sustainability for generations to come, demonstrating the disruptive potential of next-generation technology and aiming to bridge the gap to the smart home of tomorrow.

With a commitment to helping users maximise the potential of selfgenerated renewable energy, myenergi supports its customers in minimising their reliance on fossil fuels and embracing electrification. As society transitions towards the zero-carbon world of tomorrow, the company aims to make energy independence simple and achievable for everyone.

In 2021, myenergi relocated its engineering and design departments to a brand new eco facility at Stallingborough Business Park. To support increasing demand and deliver upon global growth ambitions, a second build phase was announced shortly afterwards – a major development project that will see a 66,000 sq ft production facility added to the growing site.

Featuring automated assembly lines and the latest technologies, the advanced manufacturing centre aims to set the standards in capability and productivity. Alongside optimising production of myenergi’s globally acclaimed product range, the three-storey facility will also house myenergi’s warehousing operations, alongside a canteen, gym and additional office space.

Once complete, the development will see myenergi’s entire UK operations housed on a single, custom-built site, helping the company to increase its production output, centralise global operations and further expand its market-leading product portfolio.

But while the company is now renowned as one of the UK’s fastest-growing renewable technology firms, myenergi’s commitment to the local community – to celebrating its roots, retaining its culture and being a positive force in Grimsby and the surrounding areas – is unwavering. Indeed, the business has been built from the ground upwards, harnessing the best supply chain solutions, talent and infrastructure that Lincolnshire has to offer. development team, all new and existing employee are supported as they enter the world of technology and renewables. The academi has recruited to engineering, finance, HR, facilities, training and development, with future plans to introduce more opportunities, including in specialist areas.

Having developed a globally acclaimed brand, dedicated team and a marketleading product portfolio in result, myenergi believes its story and heritage is an important ingredient to the company’s continued success and is committed to giving back to the region. Earlier this year, for example, myenergi partnered with Grimsby Town FC as the club’s official sponsor for the 2022/23 season.

As part of the agreement, the myenergi logo features across the Mariners’ first team, academy and women’s team kit. myenergi is also a key partner to the Club in community and culturefocussed projects, driving social change to build a stronger community with a more positive cultural perception.

The business has recently launched its latest recruitment drive, with countless roles available across a wide range of disciplines and departments – from engineering and production, to procurement, software, sales and technical services.

But this drive is just the start. As part of continued efforts to identify and nurture the team members of tomorrow, myenergi recently launched a dedicated training academi apprentice education hub – the ‘myenergi academi’.

Employees can expect to develop a wide range of business skills, including technical knowledge, leadership, ethics and sustainability and leadership and management. What’s more, plans are also already underway to create a postgraduate scheme for launch next year.

Alongside new starters, the academi will also serve internal staff development with an internal training prospectus that will cover renewables, energy, sustainability, and the circular economy, as well as supporting the long-term career opportunities available within the sector. The internal training programme will be delivered to give anyone joining myenergi the kick-start they need in this new and exciting industry.

So, with a rapidly expanding team, increasing product demand and ambitious plans for global growth, myenergi is set for a bright future. As the importance of sustainability and decarbonisation continues to rise up the agenda, the world will undoubtedly become more circular.

The businesses that will be here for years to come understand this and are working to speed-up the transition. Planet and profit will be the only business strategy moving forward – failing to adapt, progress and embrace sustainability will be the final nail in the coffin for the linear businesses of yesterday.

While no one can change the world on their own, what they can do is inspire transformation. myenergi may just be one company, but it is committed to driving a global movement – changing the way people think, feel and behave when it comes to sustainability.
