FAREWELL Our lovely registrar, Kersten Sadler, is retiring from her position and heading off overseas to travel with her husband, Rob. Kersten has been in the position of registrar for the past 10 years, a position that she has done on a voluntary basis. The club has great appreciation for Kersten and the work she has done to keep our registrations up to date. There are many and varied memberships at the club and Kersten has performed this role with quiet professionalism. Thank you Kersten from all of us at Wanda Surf Lifesaving Club. We will miss you. Happy travels!!!

CONGRATULATIONSâ&#x20AC;Ś Some of our members have been off around the Country competing during winter. Some results as follows: Danielle McMahon competed in the Clash of Paddles on Hamilton Island recently. Danielle placed 3rd in the 3km race and 4th in the 7km race. She also competed in the 25km race! Well done and congratulations Danielle!

Jock Campbell and Ali Najem also competed on Hamilton Island in the Great Whitehaven Beach Run. Ali Najem placed 2nd in the 11km beach run and Jock Campbell took home 1ST PLACE in the 5.5km beach run! Well done and congratulations Jock and Ali!!!

Brick Pavers for Sale We are now looking at taking orders for brick pavers (see details below). These will be placed outside Fitness First.

A single brick is $75.00 and double bricks are $150.00. Please contact the office if you would like to the place the order. We can email an order form to you. A great gift idea for club members.

WANDA SLSC ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING SUNDAY 13TH JULY 2014 Our AGM will be held on the above date at 2.00pm at the clubhouse.

Nominations for all positions are now open. If you wish to nominate for a position, please fill out the form below and drop it to the office before 5.00pm on Sunday 6th July 2014. Nomination forms for office must be signed by two (2) members and the member nominating for the position must give their consent and sign the form.

SUTHERLAND TO SURFâ&#x20AC;Ś.

HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!

Help is required from members for the Sutherland To Surf on the Saturday before the race and on the day of the race. We require help as follows: Set up at the club Road closures First aid Water stations Late entries Clothing truck Packing down We require a member to be a traffic controller who has a Yellow Card to assist with closure of the Greenhills Carpark on Saturday from 2.00-6.00pm.

Coolangatta Gold Early bird entries are open for the Coolangatta Gold Celebrating 30 years in 2014, the 42km course is not for the faint hearted. Take on one of the most physically challenging endurance races of its kind in the world individually or as a team on the Gold Coast from 1-2 November 2014.

Pool Lifesaving This season Wanda SLSC is again sending a team to the NSW & Australian pool lifesaving championships.

Former Australian representative, Blake McCrindle, will be training the team from the 11th June Wednesdays 6pm @ Engadine pool and Saturdays 4pm @ Caringbah pool. The dates of the championships are: NSW pool lifesaving championships Woy Woy Saturday & Sunday 26-27th July; Australian pool lifesaving championships Homebush 8-10th August 2014.

NIPPERS 50TH Wanda JAG 50th Anniversary Celebration Dinner To all past and present members of Wanda SLSC On 15 November 1964 members of Wanda SLSC formed the Junior Activities Group named Wanda Blue Bottles for children aged 7 years to 13 years. This year marks the 50th anniversary.

We would like to announce the Wanda JAG will be celebrating with a Gala Dinner to be held on Saturday 15 November 2014 at Gymea Trade Union Club. We are also planning a presentation of past history and a display of memorabilia. An Event Organising Committee has been formed and will be headed by Charlie Brown, a Wanda JAG Life Member.

We need your input and help A Sub Committee is required to create the display of memorabilia, memories and stories of the nipper movement over the past 50 years.

If you can contribute in any way, please contact Wanda Surf Club 02 9523 4343 for more information or attend a meeting to be held at 11am on Sunday 18th May 2014 upstairs at Wanda SLSC. The Event Organising Committee would like to invite all those that can contribute to attend this forum to get the ball rolling on this wonderful celebration.

We are looking to gather as much information as possible to cover the eraâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s; 1964-1970, 1970-1980, 1980-1990, 1990-2000, 2001-2014 Memorabilia All memorabilia will be logged and tagged to ensure the safe return to the owner after the dinner Event tickets More news and information on tickets for the Gala Dinner will be out early August. Save the date and make sure you get in early once on sale as tickets will be very limited We look forward to hearing from you.
