SUTHERLAND TO SURF THANK YOU to all our Wanda Members who volunteered to help make the Brooks Caltex S2S a huge success. This is a massive operation which can only succeed with everyone's help - it was a great team effort. A huge thank you in particular to Mick Brannock and Anne Caterson who co-ordinate this event - well done both on another amazing S2S. The event was, again, a great success with close to 8000 entrants on a cold and windy day. The new finish line was a great success and we hope next year will be bigger and better. (See photos over the page)

S2S Shirts available for sale: $15.00 short sleeve $20.00 long sleeve $10.00 singlet (limited sizes available) Please contact the office if you are interested on 9523 4343

Solly’s Joke of the Newsletter River Walk There’s this blonde out for a walk. She comes to a river and sees another blonde on the opposite bank. “Yoohoo!” she shouts, “How can I get to the other side?” The second blonde looks up the river then down the river and shouts back, “You ARE on the other side!”.

CONGRATULATIONS‌ Some of our members have been off around the World competing during winter. Some results as follows: Nick Fox, Mini Allum, Joel Bolewski and Ben Bolewski competed on 12ft paddle boards in Hawaii. On the 4th July they competed in the annual Da Hui paddle board race over approximately 11.25kms. Nick placed 1st, Mini placed 2nd. On the 12th July they competed in Annual Cline Mann paddle board race over approximately 27.35 kms. Mini placed 1st with Nick taking 2nd place. Then on the 27th July they competed as a team in the Molokai2Oahu Paddleboard World Championships race over approximately 51.50 kms across the Channel of Bones ( they'd told their mothers this just before they left Ohau!). They flew the day before to Molokai with their support crew, Brett Taper, who travelled on their support boat on the day of the race. Brett did a great job making sure they had everything they needed. The boys came 2nd (to another Aussie team) and did this in 5hr's 20mins. Only 1 person is allowed to paddle at a time with Mini starting the race and Nick finishing, paddling about 40 minutes each then swapping. The club also had the Bolewski Brothers in the race and they came in 7th in a time of 5hrs 43 minutes, which was a great result as Ben only had 10 days notice to get ready for the race. Congratulations to all of you!
