I used to love drawing, but it’s been
ages! well, years and I’m so out of practice. But as I’ve started to relax a bit lately, the creative vibe is slowly re-entering my life and I’m so glad (welcome back old friend!!). This guy is what I roughly (ruffly!) started sketching recently when the drawing urge struck me down after such a long time! I’m not going to win any awards (clearly!) but I’m just glad you can tell its a dog... you can though right?!
Travel Dreaming
Dreaming of exploring cobbled streets, stone
archways, snickleways, fountains.
I started sketching this one whilst I was watching a period drama on tv. I liked the lace bolero shaped bodice that the character was wearing on screen which inspired this beauty. I’m learning that if I just start drawing with just one piece of inspiration, my picture will evolve on its own as long as I keep pen to paper! I still have a long way to go with mastering drawing people especially in proportion, but Im pretty happy with how this quick sketch turned out.
Pandanus On Location I sketched this one in brush pen ‘on location’ whilst taking in the sea air at Suttons Beach Redcliffe, Queensland. Coloured with water-Colour pencils Continuing to discover that I like creating in pen!
I woke up from a dream that I can’t remember, with this phrase in my head. So I sketched it out before I lost it!
Happy Easter 2016! Ink pen and coloured pencil. created on Easter Sunday
Watercolour wattle Watercolour painting is not yet my forte, but I was pretty happy how this one turned out for my first attempt at a completely watercolour painting. If you like it and want one for your own it’s available at my redbubble store:
