Lira, Lady Jaydee and Nyota Ndogo Dazzle At Koroga Festival 2017
Koroga Festival is one musical experience that will forever remain on the hearts of many Kenyans, as it happened this past Sunday at the Arboretum Grounds. Since the weather was very favourable to us, people really stepped out in their best summer outfits like hotpants, short dresses, lace tops, jeans, tshirts, sandals, hats, sunglasses adding a lot of style to the event. This
particular Koroga Festival was termed as the ‘Divas Edition’ and was in celebration of womanhood. The big acts who were brought to grace the occasion were heavyweights Lira from South African(who was absolutely stunning onstage with her live band),Nyota Ndogo(one artist from the Kenyan coast who is really underrated but proved people wrong by giving a stellar performance that shut down her haters),and Lady Jaydee from Tanzania(who wore a cute military outfit and performed all her hit songs including her latest songs from her most recent album).Mercy Masika also gave a surprise performance of her latest hit song ‘Mwema’ alongside Tim Reynolds-a young saxophonist from Berklee School Of Music who also did renditions of famous Kenyan songs that gave him a standing ovation from the crowd. The Mcs for the whole event were Maqbull Mohammed and Kui who did a fantastic job while Dj Andre spun mixes of music that celebrate women taking the event to a whole high level. Monster Drink Company were also having a lucky dip where people could win a bike by purchasing monster, showmax also had a great offer for people to buy the premium package with giveaways like the Samsung A3 mobile phones plus other merchandise on offer courtesy of Lenovo and Safaricom 4G team. There was lots of activities, food, drinks and fun for the whole family like the 007 Maze Conquest which involves one crossing a lazer maze in leaps and bounds without the alarm going on to win prizes, Lenovo had a dance party Xbox game as well as fooseball plus spin the wheel where people could win merchandise like notebooks, racksacks, juice bottles and also had laptops on sale. Villa Rossa Kempinski were the official hospitality partners and were providing neck and back massages as well a culinary menu book to carry as a souvenir with great hotel packages. The South African Tours Agency in conjunction with the South African Embassy were also promoting Lira by selling her merchandise, giving a chance for her to interact with her fans, take photos, sign autographs and just enjoy the South African culture with usher gals who were dressed in South African attire. It was a phenomenal event!
