here’s a brand new Bridal Designer Discount Outlet open in Beaumont Leys Shopping Centre in Leicester. Absolutely packed with amazing genuine designer labels from the Midlands well known Bradgate Brides which is running this new store only 5 minutes from their full service bridal salon in Anstey. There was certainly lots of choice and style for every type of bride and we found the quality to be excellent. Every gown had their label intact and we found some great designers like Alfred Angelo, Maggie Sottero. Enzoani, Benjamin Roberts and all in sizes from 6 through to 28. The showing area was roomy with three changing rooms separated from the shop floor with a pretty curtain but it was the cleanliness of the gowns that impressed us most and many were this season’s styles. Prices seemed to be around the £299 to £799 mark but every gown had the designer name plus the original cost. We were informed that new stock came in every four weeks and it was always a surprise, even to the staff. All current gowns were available to order if you wanted to pay the recommended retail price but you were then sent down to the main salon for the full pampering experience. For me personally I selected a £1,300 Maggie gown down to £599 and Katie fell in love with a £2,200 Enzoani which was amazingly only £799!! Most of the gowns once gone could not be repeated for that price, so best get your skates on girls!

Venus & Braun Beauty Therapist Nathalie Eleni says… Is epilating painful? How can you minimise epilation pain?
T
he imagined pain hurdle can put people off from trying epilating, but they are often surprised by the low level of pain they actually experience. The pain diminishes with use. The second time you use your epilator, only 30% of hairs have regrown so pain is diminished by two thirds. Braun have also incorporated an integrated massage system in the head of the epilator, which masks the pain by stimulating other nerves and leads to surprisingly low discomfort. My top tip to beat the pain is to go easy and relax. Also try epilating under water with a specially designed Wet & Dry epilator such as Braun Silk-épil 7. Hold skin tightly and do small areas at first. Your hairs should be short. If they are too long shave first and then wait a day or two. How long should you leave between epilating? Smooth hair-free results last up to 4 weeks. If you have just started using an epilator it is recommended that you epilate more often. Our hairs don’t all grow back at the same rate, but as the epilator can pick up hairs as short as 0.5mm we can start to control the hair regrowth. This means as soon as you see a hair come through you can zap it with your epilator, getting rid of those in-between days waiting for the hair to regrow. By epilating regularly over a three week period, the epilator picks up those annoying new hairs, meaning at the end of three weeks your skin will be left hair free with results lasting for up to four weeks – giving you a whole month to forget about removing hair before starting up the process again. Should I prep my legs before epilating? Pre-treating the skin makes the epilation process gentler.
If you’re epilating dry, rub your skin with a dry towel – do this prior to epilating as it causes hairs to stand up from the skin surface ensuring a perfect finish. Using a product like Braun Silképil 7 Dual Epilator also counters the flat hair problem as it has been developed with the SoftLift system® which guides short hairs towards the tweezers. The epilating system does not remove skin layers, so exfoliating with a separate product as part of your skincare routine helps to avoid ingrown hairs and again helps to lift the hairs ready for epilation. What are the best products to calm and smooth skin afterwards? After you epilate it’s best to wait a few hours before applying any product to the skin. When you do apply product, look for a moisturiser which includes aloe vera as this is a very soothing ingredient.

Let’s get trashed in Ibiza
L
et’s face it, the wedding industry has changed. Weddings have changed and certainly expectations of what most brides’ want from their wedding photographer has changed.
Bridal magazines and fashion trends are ever pushing the boundaries of what looks cool and what brides want. Even the family line up of traditional shots is getting pushed out of the way! I mean the tradition of passing your wedding dress down to your daughter is pretty slim and the modern bride wants fresh, modern amazing photos from her amazing day. So, why put your uber expensive frock in a bag and hide it away for the rest of your life in a wardrobe? Enjoy it! I have to make one really important statement here… A “trash the dress” shoot doesn’t actually need to trash your dress. Sometimes these shoots are called “Rock your Dress”. And it’s simply a way for you to wear your dress again in a setting of your choice and do something unique or fun! e met in the summer of 2001 whilst on holiday in Tenerife with separate groups of friends. Ben grew up with our mutual friend Keren Hayes (who was also one fifth of our bridesmaids) and as Keren was a school friend of Nicole’s and part of the group that Nicole travelled to Tenerife with , she introduced them both. As the two groups lived close together in the UK we all kept in touch. We (Ben & Nicole) went a few dates when we got back to the UK but decided to just be friends when we went off to university. After Nicole finished university we started dating again in 2004 and have been together ever since. Malta was the first place where we went abroad on holiday together. We stayed in melleiha and had a such a great week that it still remains our favourite holiday together. To us, Malta has it all...sunshine, lovely people, great food and the fact that its a small island just makes it easier to visit all different parts. Whenever we discussed the future and possibly getting married we always talked about how great it would be to get married in Malta. So when Ben proposed there was only one choice for where to tie the knot. We flew out to Malta in May 2012 to meet Sarah Young The Wedding Planner based in Malta, and look at a few venues that we had chosen to visit. The Garden Villa was the first venue that we saw and we knew immediately that this was the venue we wanted. The villa itself, the gardens, the conservatory were all perfect and we were excited to think that we could get married there. The planning was made so easy due to Sarah and her team. She looked after every single detail, even those that we hadn’t thought about! All of our questions were answered quickly and efficiently and we don’t know what we would have done without her. The wedding day itself was perfect. The weather, the setting, the food, and having our friends and family with us in Malta made it the most amazing experience. KENT TO HOST UK’S BIGGEST BRIDAL SHOWCASE The biggest bridal showcase in the UK has been created in Kent. It will be held at the Kent Event Centre on 20 October and will comprise the popular Wedding Experience show held at the venue twice a year along with a new event called The Asian Bridal Exhibition 2013, aimed at the UK Asian wedding market.
The two shows share the billing at the Kent Event Centre, the county’s largest meeting space, on a day when more than 300 exhibitors will be offering a huge range of products and services for brides and grooms. Wedding show consultant Claudia Jordan-Hadaway is involved in staging the bridal bonanza. “Forget national events at the NEC, Earl’s Court or the London Excel Centre – this will be the biggest wedding showcase ever seen in Britain. “Come to the Kent Event Centre on 20 October and you will find everything you want for your big day – and things you have not even thought of yet!

Claudia said a highlight for many visitors will be the fashion shows, where a wide selection of gorgeous traditional English and Asian bridalwear will be on display on the catwalk (and not forgetting formal menswear too). “We are particularly excited about staging the Asian Bridal Exhibition on the same day as the Wedding Experience. We are expecting around 100 specialist exhibitors to showcase their inspirational styling and interiors services to Asian visitors. It will be a wedding show like no other, with wedding tables dressed in amazing colours and styles.” Kent Event Centre event manager Alison Wallington said she is honoured and delighted to be hosting the UK’s biggest wedding showcase: “We are the perfect venue for a show of this size because of our great location and our unlimited free parking. We look forward to playing our part in helping dreams become a reality for countless brides and grooms.” • Conference facilities at the Kent Event Centre include the Clive Emson Conference Centre (1,700 sq m), the John Hendry Pavilion (1,750sq m), the Astor Pavilion (151 sq m) and the Kent Pavilion (3,000 sq m). There are also six major meeting rooms. • The Kent Showground is located on a site covering 200 acres. It is run by the Kent County Agricultural Society which also organises the Kent County Show, which takes place on 12-14 July.
