Spring Retirement Luncheon Fiftieth Reunion
At the Shoe Bar in Northbridge, 11 members of class 4/73 celebrated their 50th Anniversary of joining WA Police.
A few members have sadly passed away over the years and a larger number were unable to attend the gathering due to relocation and holiday commitments, but the lucky 11 were thrilled to reunite.

They spent their day on 8 October telling stories, reminiscing on shared memories and enjoying old company. This monumental reunion reminded them all that they were keen to stay in touch, so in turn they agreed to conduct lunch periodically in the near future.
The bond of the Blue Family is that of a strong one, and this reunion is testament to that. It is great to see the bond of an old class remain strong and prevalent an impressive 50 years after their recruitment. ■
The Retired Police Officers Association Spring Luncheon at the Osborne Park Bowling Club was a significant occasion attended by WA Police Union President Paul Gale and Senior Vice President Dave Flaherty.
The Retired Police Officers Association is described as a charitable community service-based organisation with a primary focus on fostering the spirit of camaraderie among its members. This is achieved through a variety of social functions and the provision of confidential support and assistance.
WAPU plays a crucial role in extending ongoing support to its retired members through collaboration with the Retired Police Officers Association. Being invited to events like the Spring Luncheon is considered a privilege by WAPU, as it provides an opportunity to witness the tangible results of the Association's hard work and dedication to its mission.
The emphasis on the social aspect of these events is highlighted, with the statement expressing that every gathering is a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, encourage mingling, and foster the development of friendships among attendees. This underlines the importance of building and maintaining a sense of community among retired police officers, emphasising the positive impact of such events in creating lasting connections and a supportive network within the association. ■
