Holy Quran's Emphasis on Cleanliness

The Holy Quran emphasizes the importance of cleanliness and hygiene as a fundamental aspect of a healthy and spiritual life. Muslims are encouraged to maintain their bodily and spiritual purity through regular ablution and cleansing. In Chapter 5, verse 7, the Quran states,

''O ye who believe! when you stand up for Prayer, wash your faces, and your hands up to the elbows, and pass your wet hands over your heads, and wash your feet to the ankles.'' This verse highlights the importance of ablution before prayer and emphasizes the significance of cleanliness in worship.

The Quran also instructs Muslims to keep their surroundings clean and pure, as it is said in Chapter 2, verse 61

‘Eat and drink of what Allah has provided, and commit not iniquity in the earth, creating disorder.’ This verse stresses the importance of respecting the environment and avoiding actions that can lead to pollution and harm.
